More Aaliyah biopic news? Late R&B singer Aaliyah is a gem when we think of some of the best R&B music we have ever heard. Unfortunately for the singer and those that adore her, she was taken from this earth prematurely via an airplane crash, leaving many to wonder what she could have been. At the time of her death, Aaliyah was doing movies and recording hit albums, and most of you can probably name plenty of Aaliyah songs you consider as classics. Unlike most singers today, Aaliyah was a force to be reckoned with in many ways because not only could she sing, but she was a great performer who could also model and snatch movie roles.
Since the singer’s death was shocking, it’s no surprise many have made it clear her life should be shown on a big screen in the form of an upcoming biopic. Although nothing has been made official about a biopic just yet, many actresses such as Meagan Good have expressed their desire to play Aaliyah on the big screen and there’s also been talk that upcoming actress and singer Keshia Chantae nabbed the role via earlier reports. But now there’s new names being thrown on the table, with Beyonce’s younger sister Solange and R&B singer Cassie’s names being thrown in the mix. Illseed of All Hip Hop reports:
Well, there is a new contender in the rumors. The latest is that none other than Cassie is to play Aaliyah in a biopic. Not sure how this factors into the Solange rumor. Now, a lot of people are crying foul, but Cassie and Aaliyah have a lot of similarities. I personally just don’t think they look a lot alike, even though both are beauties.
Neither Cassie nor Solange have said anything as of yet on the rumors, and as of now no confirmation has even been made that a Aaliyah biopic is definitely in the works. So for now all of this has to be classified as gossip.
But how would you feel about Cassie or Solange portraying Aaliyah in a biopic?
Solange…maybe. I think she’s a decent actress and great singer. But Cassie? NOPE. Beautiful girl, but she has no talent. Aaliyah deserves better than that.

Hell no. No wonder Aaliyah’s brother is against a biopic being made. They are going to mess this all up!

21 year old Musician Tiffany Evans would be perfect to play Aaliyah &do her justice.She’s a singer/songwriter,actress,trained dancer,model,and has a beautiful voice!

Neither one of these actresses deserve to play Aaliyah at all. They both are not on her level period. Never have been and never will be. Just leave the biopic alone. Let her legacy live through her movies and music. She deserves that. Plus, I don’t believe any C-list celebrities should make a major come up off “trying” to betray her.
