Drake talks about Kanye West and wants to surpass him? Rapper Drake is clearly one of today’s biggest stars in Hip Hop and the young emcee has proven that he has what it takes to go platinum in a lukewarm album sales driven music industry. With his upcoming album “Nothing Was the Same” dropping September 24, the Young Money Records star has been busy with press rounds and getting his fan base excited about the release of his new album. However, Drake also makes it clear that he is very competitive, and although he’s pretty cool with most of his peers such as J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West; he definitely aspires to outdo them. He recently revealed that he’s not worried about Kendrick Lamar’s controversial verse in “Control” because he doesn’t think the Compton emcee will ever be on his level, but in a recent interview with Hip Hop journalist Elliott Wilson, he makes it clear his real objective is to surpass Kanye West. When asked about Kendrick Lamar’s verse, Drake tells Elliott Wilson:
“Are you listening to it now? At this point? I can’t wait to see what he does because now it’s time to show and prove. Consistency. It’s been like one album. Consistency is make more than one album. I look forward to seeing what he does. He’s super f*cking talented.
“When it comes to competition, I’m more worried about consistency, about bodies of work. I’m talking about hit records . . . that’s Kanye West. He’s always going to be the guy who’s trying to outthink and out-do. That’s my guy that I aspire to surpass.”
He always sounds like he’s shading Kendrick…anyway, he means he wants to surpass the old Kanye because the new Kanye sucks monkey balls. Yeezus is trash.
LOL Kanye is not some musical god. Truth be told his last two albums aren’t that good. He was better when he first came out. Drake should raise his standards.
Sigh…here we go with people putting Kanye on some pedestal he doesn’t deserve to be on anymore.

Drake needs to stop taking these little jabs at Kendrick. Kendrick has more than one album and his old music is legendary. He made classics before gkmc. Smh.

How is Kanye consistent? That last album was pure garbage. And by the looks of how he’s been acting lately, he will be putting out even more garbage.
Swear I try my hardest to ignore his comments about Kendrick. But it’s becoming redundant…which makes it annoying. Kendrick only has one official album but his mixtapes and EP will smash MOST of Drake’s official albums. “So Far Gone” (a mixtape) was Drake’s best work probably up until he dropped “Take Care.” Granted, now that I’ve seen him perform live, he’s definitely on the list of talented artists, but he might want to tread lightly with his comments about Kendrick. How the hell do you talk so shady about an artist that has opened for you?! Additionally, Kanye ain’t hot no more!!!
