If you’re anything like us, you probably watch a large variety of TV shows. You may have a few reality shows you watch religiously as a guilty pleasure, and several scripted shows you feel are worthy enough to count down the days until its return from a seasonal hiatus. But even we have to admit there isn’t quite a show out there anything like Adult Swim’s massive hit “The Boondocks,” as the animated comedy has a way of taking some of the truth and twisting it into a show with profanity speaking children and rappers with crazy names like “Gangstalicious.” The show forces us to look at society and current events in a different light and even though we don’t always agree with Aaron McGruder’s take on politics, black culture, and even Hip Hop; the show still has a cult following because it’s so nicely done.

The show has been on the network for three seasons, but fans aren’t happy that it always takes it so long to return. Aaron McGruder says the long hiatuses are simply because a show based off that type of flawless anime just takes longer make, but actress Regina King did confirm recently that they had already started working on season four. Yet, no one could confirm when the next season would premiere.

Great news for “The Boondocks” fans. Adult Swim recently confirmed on one of its commercials in which they answer tweets from viewers that the show will return in January 2014. Adult Swim Central got the screen shots:

the boondocks season 4 premiere date

the boondocks season four premiere date 2

While no specific date has been confirmed as of yet, we’re sure fans of the show can breathe easy now that the actual network confirmed it will return in January. Are you excited?
