Mary J. Blige has been in the news plenty lately for her money issues but it appears the R&B singer is finally getting her financial drama under control as of late. And if that’s not enough, she also nabbed the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the World Series. Mary took the big stage last night before the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox kicked off Game 1 at Fenway Park. Before the performance, she told her fans via Twitter she was excited about the opportunity and most of them felt she knocked it out of the park if social media is any indication.
This isn’t Mary’s first time singing the anthem at the World Series. In 2009, she also took the big stage before Game 6 of the World Series between Philadelphia and the New York Yankees at the Yankee Stadium.
But check out Mary’s performance below and let us know if you think she did her thing below in the comment section.
In related news, Mary J. Blige recently confirmed that she is releasing a Christmas album this year. “A Mary Christmas” is available for purchase now.
Not bad, but not stellar either. But we still love Mary.
It was ok. She’s gotten better with her live performances.
Yeah she has gotten better.
Blah. Mary isn’t the strongest singer. She does a lot of screaming. Kind of like Alicia Keys.
It wasn’t bad.
Mary cannot sing, but most black people don’t like to say that out loud because she’s Mary.
Bhahahahahaha!!!
Lol this is so true.
