R&B singer Chris Brown may have an album dropping in December, but he’s once again making headlines not because of his music but because of his ongoing legal problems. As we reported recently, Chris was arrested over the weekend in Washington DC after he allegedly assaulted a man outside of a W Hotel. There are conflicting reports on what went down but Chris’ camp claims the man tried to trespass on his tour bus and a confrontation began shortly after he was stopped.

The victim is claiming that Chris went berserk and yelled homophobic slurs at him after he attempted to photo bomb a photo Chris was taking with two female fans, and he says he never hit the singer although Chris threw the first punch and broke his nose.

Chris was charged with felony assault and faced a magistrate today.

Well the singer just caught a big break in the case. TMZ is reporting that Chris’ charge has been reduced to misdemeanor assault, and it’s all because the victim’s injuries weren’t as serious as he claimed. Chris’ bodyguard was also charged with misdemeanor assault as well since he was also allegedly involved.

Chris has been released from jail without bail and sources tell the website another reason the charge was reduced was because the witnesses kept giving conflicting accounts of what happened that night. The singer has also been ordered to stay 100 yards from the victim. He pled not guilty and says he never punched the victim and his bodyguard was the one who threw the punches.

As far as Chris’ probation is concerned, the LA County Probation Department is looking into the case to determine if Chris committed a crime. In the worst case scenario, Chris’ probation could be revoked and he could be sent to jail for up to four years.

  1. It helps a little but it really doesn’t matter he still violated probation. I love Chris but I am not in denial and I can’t defend his behavior anymore. He has some issues and until he addresses them he is going to stay losing.

  2. I still think he’s in some serious trouble. They will probably send him to jail because he keeps getting into trouble.

  3. He ain’t going to jail. He’s got a layer who is good what he does. That’s why he keeps getting in so much trouble. He feels invincible.

  4. Chris Brown in his generation OJ and the Man will not stop until they put him in jail and he’s making it easy for them
