Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made headline news when they confirmed their engagement, but Kim’s big 15 carat rock is getting just as much attention as the proposal itself, which is to be expected for any Hollywood couple. As we reported recently, the ring was designed by the same woman who designed Kim’s last engagement ring which she received from former husband Kris Humphries. It’s been reported that Kanye had been working on the ring for weeks with Lorraine Schwartz, and after sending emails back and forth he finally was able to get the ring to look exactly how he wanted it to. Interestingly enough, a new article from Glamour Magazine points out that Kim’s new ring looks a lot like the ring Kanye gave his ex-fiancee Alexis Phifer.
The ring Kanye gave Alexis appears to be slightly smaller and the prongs on both rings are not the same, but overall the rings strongly favor. Check out the photo (Photo Credit: Glamour/Getty/Splash). Kim’s ring is on the left and Alexis’ ring is on the right:
But what do you think? Do the rings look too much alike for comfort? And if so, should Kim be insulted or is it not really a big deal?
In related news, Kim and Kanye have filed a lawsuit against co-founder of YouTube Chad Hurley. Hurley is allegedly the person who put footage of Kimye’s proposal out on social media. The couple is suing because Kim actually planned to use the footage on her show “Keeping Up the Kardashians” and she’s furious people have already seen it thanks to Hurley. He signed a confidentiality agreement demanding he would not shoot video of the event, but he decided against it to reportedly promote his new business venture MixBit.
Well this isn’t eerie to me because this is Kim and Kanye we’re talking about. They aren’t worried about staying married, just all the attention they need to get every day for this “relationship.”
Can’t stand Kanye but to be fair most men only know like one or two ring types. LOL.
I’d be mad as hell but Kim doesn’t care. I mean she had the same woman who designed the last ring do this one. She doesn’t care at all. I also think she and Kanye planned every detail of this engagement together. They are so fake and thirsty for attention.
I think that possibly Kim helped aye pick out Alexis’ ring.
I would have been furious with my husband because I don’t want to wear anything that’s a reminder of the past and his past relationships. But Kim and Kanye are only in it for press. So this make sense.
It really doesn’t matter if Kanye gave Kim a similar ring it will only on her finger temporarily like the previous two rings. Kim and Kanye are so stupid trying to sue. This is what happens when you are attention whores and always bare everything for the world to see people will try to benefit off of you before you try to. They opened the door for this.
Doesn’t matter because they won’t last anyway. #shrugs
LOL at that lawsuit. Kimmy Cakes and Kanye Kardashian are mad that their staged proposal was videotaped, yet the E cameras were there rolling the whole time. I’m so over these two.
It would be a problem to Kim if she was really trying to stay married and not just trying to stretch out her 15 minutes of fame. But…
I wouldn’t call it eerie, more like irrelevant. I’m more surprised they still want people to think their relationship is genuine. If they really loved each other they would just quietly enjoy their “love” and stop trying to shove it down everyone else’s throats.
