Most of you were outraged about the story we posted about Renisha McBride. Renisha was just 19 years old when she was shot dead on a stranger’s porch near Detroit after she reportedly knocked on the door after getting in a car accident. Her family says she was most likely just asking for help when the man began to shoot. The man who shot her told police that he did so because he thought she was trying to break in his home and he was hoping that his claim of self defense would save him from catching a murder charge. However, it’s now been confirmed that he has been charged.

According to multiple reports, Theodore Wafer was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and a related gun charge for the death of Renisha McBride.

McBride was shot in the face and killed just minutes after she knocked on Wafer’s door and her loved ones originally thought she was killed because she was black. Their attorney did later say the family now feels the shooting was not racially motivated.

The prosecutor, Kym Worthy says charges were filed because there just wasn’t enough information to convince them that Wafer’s actions were justified and the evidence presented doesn’t show that the shooter acted in lawful self defense. Nor did the evidence show that Renisha was trying to break into Wafer’s home.

This comes just hours after the medical examiner confirmed that the toxicology report showed Renisha had a blood alcohol content of .22, which is more than double the legal limit for driving. The test also showed that she had weed in her system at the time of her death.

The lawyer representing Renisha’s family however says the findings of the toxicology report have nothing to do with her death and they still feel she was murdered.

  1. Now watch them try to use the fact that she had been drinking and smoking as a way to blame her for her own death. Smh.

  2. ………and here goes the criminalization of the victim.

We all know that this guy is going to get off.

They are already preparing the defense. The fact that she was intoxicated and the fact that she had drugs in her system doesn’t mean that she deserved to die. But they are surely going to position it that way. If he thought his life was in danger, why did he open the door?

His defense is better than Zimmerman’s and we see what happened there.

Ironically, the shooter has 2 previous DUI’s. But they’ll probably not mention this while at the same time going through this young sisters school records from kindergarten.

    R.I.P. Renisha McBride.

  3. Well let’s all just pray that justice is served this time around and that he doesn’t get off and this young lady’s murder is vindicated. There’s power in the tongue
