Fans of Lil Boosie have been awaiting news of the rapper’s impending release from prison for years. There have been a few rumors suggesting he would get out sometime this year, and some even thought he would be released a few months ago. Despite the gossip, the Baton Rouge rapper has remained behind bars.

Now it’s been confirmed that Lil Boosie has an official release date from prison and he’s expected to become a free man in 2014. NOLA reports:

Rapper Lil Boosie will be home even sooner than previously expected, according to his brother. The performer, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, could be home by Feb. 16, 2014 thanks to various programs he’s participated in to earn early release, his brother and business manager, Taquari Hatch, said.

Taquari Hatch told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune that a previously reported date of Aug. 18, 2014 wasn’t accurate. Due to a slow down in the paperwork process at the Louisiana Department of Safety and Corrections, the automated offender locator system did not yet reflect the time off of his brother’s sentence that had been accrued, he said.

  1. I’ll contain my excitement unit he’s actually back home. They keep saying this and it never happens when the time comes.
