Ciara had a great 2013. Her single “Body Party” became a big R&B hit and got numerous spins on the urban radio stations and she’s engaged to be married to her rapper beau Future and even made peace with his baby mamas. Whether or not she’s expecting a child too with the rapper has yet to be confirmed, but photos have most thinking the R&B singer really is pregnant.

However, Ciara has not been at all pleased with some of the things written about her by the blogs, so she took a page out of K. Michelle’s book and addressed it in an open letter.

Ciara writes:

I used to sometimes like visiting some of the blog sites to see what new things are happening in the world! Things like cool photos, current events, etc. But nowadays it seems like there’s a competition with sites on “Who Can Tear Someone Down the Most.” The stories are going from cool and creative to pure drama. Even the comment sections are beginning to get out of control and people are using the platforms to exercise a false sense of power.

People sure do have a lot of courage when they are anonymous. It’s like a “Who Can Say the Nastiest Comment Game.” I click onto some of the comments from something as fun as an Instagram post that you’re sharing with your fans, and a person finds a way to turn a positive post into a negative. I think to myself, “I could pick this person apart so bad but what for? Why act ugly like them?” It honestly takes the fun out of it when people seem so miserable.

Or at least that’s how I view someone wasting their energy to tear someone down, just plain miserable. They could be using that to do something much more productive. If only they could channel their energy towards positivity, it could make a difference in their own life as well as influence others. It’s kind of scary for the kids coming up, because even if a parent doesn’t allow their kids to have blog site access at home, they may still have access at school or other places. It’s now almost impossible to protect your kids from the vile things people say on blog sites today, and it’s even worse when kids hear hurtful things about themselves, their parents or other family members. In some cases kids have even resorted to suicide due to “cyber-bullying.”

My questions to people creating slander about people are:

What stops you from thinking twice about trying to defame someone? What are you trying to gain?

Words are powerful. You could say the wrong thing about someone, famous or not, on the wrong day and that could cost them their life because they’re at a weak point. Believe it it or not, you could also be encouraging them to give up on their life or whatever the situation is, when they shouldn’t. Or what about a story that causes unnecessary drama stemming from completely false information? It’s just flat out wrong and sad. I say to myself, I thank God for making me strong, because I’ve always been able to use the negativity as motivation, and it makes me stronger.

But I don’t just think about myself in this, I think about others that I see getting thrashed and think it’s just so wrong. It’s very sad that people just want to tear people down so bad just to see them unhappy. It’s unbelievable how far people are willing to go to get people to come to their site.
I say this to say….

Dear Blogger, It’s never worth it in the end when you sell your soul for a quick dollar, by creating bad stories about people. At some point, it will all reverse on you and you’ll end up regretting all the trash you wrote or said about people.

The universal friend “Karma” has demonstrated this over and over again. I strongly encourage you to project more positivity into the universe. If Social Media is a world that’s growing more massive by the day, why not use it to shed light?? Otherwise, you are merely contaminating our universe.

What about your family and kids?? Do you think about them?? You’re definitely creating a harmful and volatile environment where they must learn to live. It’s almost like you are cursing future generations with your bad energy.

Not to mention…Your “Personal Karma”??… Forget about it!

You better start doing some serious praying and rebuking, cause only The Lord knows!…:)

I sure do miss the good ol days when the focus was about the pure creativity of being an artist. Back then there was still some mystery. Social Media Is Beginning To Take Away The Specialness of What That Was, and Is.

Now, Off Blogs. Peaceful Mind. Living In My Happiness. Creativity Only.

Love, C

  1. This is the same person who got on national TV and called Rihanna out for something as petty as not speaking to her. This is the same person who also dragged someone on twitter and made fun of how the young lady looked when she said something she didn’t like. And this is the same person who sat back and laughed on Twitter when her fans dragged a blogger months ago. Ciara sit all the way down and focus on your washed up career. You aren’t any better than the bloggers or people writing comments. Stop it already.

  2. It’s amazing to me how some celebs find time to worry so much about what the blogs say. Shouldn’t she be too busy with her career to worry about the blogs? Her priorities are all messed up.

  3. So she only wants the blogs to write about the positive aspects of her life and completely ignore the negative? Oh, ok.

  4. Ciara isn’t cut out to be famous. I suspected it a while ago but this confirms it. Blogs and media scrutiny comes with fame. She can always marry Future and be a housewife if she can’t handle it. She gets paid millions to do what she loves. Shut up and be thankful for that and stop making a ig deal out of the negatives that come with it.

  5. Girl bye. Beyonce and Rihanna get it worst than you do and you don’t see them writing a full fledged essay about it. Why? Because they are too busy working and getting that money. Get some business about yourself. Smh.

  6. I’m pretty sure if the blogs only kissed her butt she wouldn’t have written this. Celebs have been loved and torn down at the same time forever. That’s just how it is when it comes to the media. If it bothers her so much, she can always retire. Just be happy people are still talking about you boo. Your career is on its last legs and you should be more focused on that than what the blogs say.

  7. Blogs are a mixture of news, lies and opinions. Social media is another place where people express their opinions. Why is Ciara so worked up about opinions? She should have tougher skin than this. The more successful you are, the worst you will get it. Look at Beyonce for crying out loud. She can’t do anything without getting dragged for it. But look at how she handles it. She ignores it and keeps it moving. Ciara needs to do the same.

  8. She made good points, but it’s hard for me to feel sorry for her when she doesn’t even get the hate as bad as others. And if she can’t handle it while she’s trying to make a comeback, she really won’t be able to handle it when she becomes successful. It only gets worse then.

  9. Rich people problems. It must be nice for your only worry in the world to be what STRANGERS think of you versus whether or not you can pay your bills and keep a roof over your head. :-/

  10. She wrote all this? LMAO. Girl get in the studio and worry about your flop career. I swear if she put as much energy as she does into Future and what the blogs do, her last album would have went platinum. I’m Navy all day but the thing that irks me about Ciara is she is wasted talent. She’s always worried about the wrong things and I don’t see how her fans haven’t gone off on her about that already. You think Rih would have done this? Beyonce? Hell no. They are too busy winning and working their behinds off to make sure they retire as legends. Get it together Ciara.

  11. How many times is Ciara going to respond to the blogs? And how long is this vacation with Future supposed to last? She doesn’t work as hard as she needs to be on top. And that’s why she’s not. While she vacations and writes lengthy letters to the blogs, Rihanna making history, touring, getting endorsements, and making hit shows for Bravo. You don’t give your haters this much attention. smh.

    1. I was thinking the same thing. She gonna drive herself crazy if she keeps reading and worrying about these bloggers.

  12. I hope she don’t think this essay will stop the neg. post or comments about her. Nope. Now people are starting to see the real Ciara. She is known to have a nasty attitude, and feels nothing neg. should be said about her. Some people couldn’t understand why the men she was with in her past dropped her like a hot potato. She is known for wanting to control and is a stalker. She finally got a man she can control, but look what she got.

  13. So instead of being in the studio, she decides to pen her manifesto? Ciara, Cliff Notes please, cuz I don’t have time to read that mess!

  14. All I can do is shake my head. The fact that she is putting her focus on meaningless things like this instead of her music makes me wonder. Focus on getting that hit record and planning your wedding to your Future CiCi.

  15. Ciara girl get your life! People will always talk whether you’re famous or not! Who cares? Be happy and make that money boo.

  16. Fact of the matter is, she made great points. Writing the letter doesn’t mean she is overwhelmed or preoccupied with what people think of her (although it COULD be possible….so relax). I often find myself browsing social networks and coming across senseless comments and photos…..and I have the exact same thoughts. Which I’m sure at some point, we all do. I can’t knock her for this one. *shrug*

    1. I strongly disagree. No one writes a letter as long as this one if they aren’t upset about something. And I follow Ciara on Twitter and she continuously is tweeting about bloggers and the nasty rumors they write about her. She’s way too concerned. She is overwhelmed, pregnant and emotional about the things being written about her. And let’s be honest, we all have strong opinions that could offend the subject we’re discussing. D Val you yourself have written some not so nice things about Ciara on other posts, but that was your opinion and you had the right to express it. Ask yourself why Beyonce and bigger stars aren’t writing letters like these? They are more focused and understand that this comes with fame and success. With praise comes negativity. I like Ciara but she is being way too sensitive and a bit hypocritical. She just embarrassed a girl on Twitter herself not too long ago, so I’m confused as to why she is trying to stand on a soapbox now.

I agree with the person on here who said she’s not cut out for fame. Bigger stars have endured worse and responded less.

      1. The things I’ve said regarding Ciara speak to my opinion of her as an artist. Not as a person. You have never, and will never, see me speak negatively about a person as it pertains to their character…especially if I lack the facts to back up my perspective. I maintain my opinion of her as an artist and don’t feel that singing is her strong suit. Could that be hurtful to her? Definitely….but there’s no malice or ill will behind that. When I wrote my response, it was in regards to people that maliciously write things to purposely hurt other people; false reports and accusations included. I am not defending anything concerning Ciara. I’m simply saying I agree with what she said. My agreement goes beyond her situation. I could care less about most blogs written about her. But the overall message I got from what she wrote, I agree with. Yes, I offered the perspective that just because she wrote this doesn’t mean she’s pressed, but I also stated that the opposite could also be true. Perhaps being a celebrity isn’t for her. Maybe she’s not cut out for being famous. But that’s not my stance and I didn’t set out to prove otherwise.

      2. We can agree to disagree because some of the things you write about others on here hasn’t been all that nice in MY opinion. But that’s part of being famous – you put yourself out there to be loved and hated. Sure, I don’t agree with slander or trolls, but my point is writing this won’t solve anything. Celebrities have been loved and torn a part by the media for ages. Blogs just made it so more people have voices that would not have been heard otherwise. These celebs get paid millions to do what they love. They have to learn to take the good with the bad (as most do). And she refuses to do that and it just annoys me. I think she should just retire and be a wife if this is the kind of power bloggers have over her when she doesn’t even get the worse end of it as others who are more successful.

        1. And I guess that’s my thing. I’m not disagreeing with you by any means. You make valid points, and that’s not something I’m attempting to debate or take away from you. Again, what I say may not be “nice” depending on how one perceives it, but there are no bad intentions on my end. I could go on, but I’d rather not. It is what it is.

  17. People come on blogs to express their opinions. A small percentage of people are trolls. But to read this long letter and see Ciara complaining about something so trivial when she is so fortunate to have wealth and a chance to live her dreams is insulting. Yes some bloggers get carried away. But that’s a part of fame. Not everyone is going to be a fan. She annoys me because she is always worried about the dumbest things.

  18. Are you people serious? You all have clearly misunderstood what her message was. I agree with her, blogs were not like these in the past. They have worsen over the years. People honestly do make these blogs with fake information because they have a dead line of when to get their story’s out and to make a quick dollar. It seems like nobody in the world wants to see another person be successful or happy. Everybody trying to tear each other done and its just sad. People do better when they know better.
    Sincerely,
    RJF

    1. Yes, we are serious. You think we don’t know how messy blogs are? LOL! No one said blogs aren’t messy and some people aren’t out of hand. But what we did say is that she shouldn’t be writing essays about it and giving messy people so much power over her life. And that’s the truth. Do you see anyone else writing these kinds of letters? I’m talking about celebs who are more successful than her? And what will this letter do anyway? Change the mindset of the lying bloggers? No, if anything they will just go harder on her. She should be focused more on her career because then she wouldn’t have time to write these kinds of letters. I don’t understand people who claim they are all about being positive but they spend so much time worried about the negative. This is why her career is just about over. She would rather address lying blogs than get her butt in the studio and make hit music. I can’t support folks who are dedicating time to stupid stuff.

And for the record, addressing haters is pointless. What will that even change? You can’t make haters like you. She should use the hate as motivation to work harder and become even more successful. No worries, Beyonce and Rihanna will do that while she writes essays about bloggers. People stay giving idiots too much power and then get offended when you call them out for being naive about it. Smh.

  19. Ciara’s fans are just as hypocritical as she is. She writes this long thesis on bloggers and now they want to try to talk about how out of control bloggers are and social media comments as if they haven’t been as nasty to other people too. I see Ciara stans dragging her haters on twitter daily, and y’all have said some of the nastiest things about Rihanna. But now like your fave you want to stand on some fake soapbox. Man get out of here. Y’all are ratchet when it’s convenient and holier than thou the next minute. I wish I could post screenshots on here of how some of y’all do. LOL.

  20. Ciara just needs to hang it up and be Future’s wife. This was not professional and shows she doesn’t have the tough skin required to be famous. I can name many more celebs that get harsher coverage by the media and you won’t catch them writing letters like these. Time to retire CiCi.

  21. Sorry, I think Ciara is full of it on this one. Blogs started becoming popular around 2005. So that was when Ciara was on top and getting lots of praise. TMZ came around 2006, and urban blogs popped up around 2005-2007. So when she says blogs used to be more positive, what she really means is blogs used to praise her more. And they did because she was on top and very private. But then her career took a hit and when you fall the media will tell the world. And that’s when Ciara’s issue with the blogs started. Now some of those blogs have been terrible since her fall (MTO for one), but let’s not act like they haven’t always been messy lol. And her private life is on full display now. When the media knows more, expect it to get even worse. And honestly, for the most part, blogs have always been brutal because they are based on someone’s opinions! She didn’t mind it when they loved her, but now that she’s struggling career wise, she has a problem? How convenient. 🙂

I say she should tune out the blogs like a pro and keep it moving. Make them eat their words by making some hits. Success is the best revenge, not essays. 🙂

  22. But why does she care so much? Rihanna gets called worse things (and can care less), but the worst they say about Ciara is she’s a flop and that’s not slander. Her business with Future was exposed to the blogs by his own baby mamas, and tabloids have been around since the beginning of journalism. They aren’t going away, so what is this letter supposed to do? Make bloggers turn off their Macs and retire? Stop people from dragging her in the comments on sites and on social media? She is whining and she doesn’t even get dragged by the blogs as worse as others. But I would love to know why she hasn’t called her own hateful fans out for the things that they say and do to others to defend her since she’s so against Cyber Bullying as she claims. *rolls eyes*

  23. Sorry, no celeb is above criticism and the tabloids. If she wanted to get nothing but praise and positivity, she’s in the wrong business. And honestly, the blogs are the only places Ciara is even mentioned. Major media outlets don’t even pay her any attention. By writing this she could burn bridges with the main outlets who do give her press.

  24. Has Ciara thought about just maybe she’s currently experiencing karma for what she’s done to people in the past too? She’s not as holy as she wants to pretend she is.

  25. If bloggers sold their souls for a quick dollar, what did she sell her soul for? I’ll never forget that desperate spread she did with Vibe Magazine when she was butt naked and squatting like she was taking a dump. She went from keeping her cookies to herself to stripping down out of desperation. I am still awaiting the return of the old Ciara.

  26. This is so pathetic to me. Ciara only gets written about on a few of the urban blogs, but the Beyonces and Rihannas of the world get covered by all the outlets and get dragged way harder daily and they don’t get all in their feelings like this! She needs to toughen up. If she ever does make a comeback they will tear her to shreds because it comes with the territory!

  27. Yet she has one of the nastiest and meanest fan bases out on the blogs! Until she tells them to chill, she has no room to talk!

  28. The funny thing is Ciara will be running to the blogs to promote her next album whenever it does drop. That’s now these ungrateful celebs do. When they have something to promote, they are BFFs with the bloggers. But when their messy lives get out and the blogs report it, then the blogs are being bullies, right? Chile bye.

  29. People will talk about you like a dog when you’re broke and not even famous, so why would it get better when you’re famous and rich? Chuck the haters the deuces and live your life sweetheart.

  30. Another crybaby celebrity crying over blogs when people in this world have real problems like trying to keep a damn roof over their heads. All this time she put into writing this novel, she could have been recording some hits, working with a vocal coach or even working on her dance moves. But no, she’s running behind Future, knocked up and writing novels on bloggers. I give up on Ciara.
