While Tyrese is giving out relationship advice on social media and encouraging single women to stay optimistic, he’s having some serious drama with his former wife. According to reports, the former couple is currently in the middle of a nasty custody and child support war over their daughter Shayla.
Not only is Tyrese’s ex accusing the actor of being a deadbeat dad who doesn’t spend enough time with their daughter but she also prevented him from seeing her the other day and the cops were even called.
According to TMZ, Norma Gibson denied Tyrese from seeing Shayla because she was sick at the time, but Tyrese seems to think that’s not the truth and Norma is just being vindictive. Norma called the cops ahead of Tyrese’s arrival and he left peacefully without his daughter:
Tyrese went to Norma Gibson’s home in North Hollywood Tuesday night to pick up their 6-year-old daughter. Sources say Norma did not want to hand the kid over because she was sick.
But before he got there … we’re told Norma called police because she felt the custody order did not require her to turn the kid over and she needed cops to look at the document. LAPD officers arrived and Tyrese showed up as well.
Cops talked to Tyrese and left … and so did Tyrese — without the kid.
The site says Tyrese plans to go to court and ask a judge to hold his ex-wife in contempt and throw her in jail for violating the custody order because he thinks his daughter was not sick and this was nothing but revenge for Norma.
It’s a damn shame that so many women wish the father of their child wanted to be in his child’s life and then you have some women who will do this kind of bull. I know Tyrese is annoying but I’m on his side on this one. His ex seems real bitter.
I thought I was the only one who thought he was type “annoying” . I would say if the child was truly sick they could have handled the situation better.
They could have agreed that the child will stay with the mom and Tyrese can come over for a hour or 2 to spend time with her. When she is better he could have her on his non week due to the sickness.

I hate the court system boy. It can be good for situations where it is warranted. But, adults need to stop letting their emotions control their life.

I agree. I typically like to side with the women in these situations but Tyrese really seems like he isn’t a terrible dad. Like he really wants to be around his kid. Let him be a dad and stop trying to use the court system to get even.
I’m assuming these two had a nasty breakup and they haven’t gotten past it yet. I really hope they do at some point because it’s affecting their child.
SMH this is so sad. I really don’t know what to say because if the child is sick I can understand some mothers want their child by their side. But his little girl isn’t a baby so she should have let Tyrese take the little girl with medicine and instructions if she gets sicker. These two need to get it together because their daughter will read about this one day.
I hope he doesn’t throw her in jai. It’s only going to make matter worse.

Exactly. I hope he has a change of heart. But if Norma keeps on throwing him curve balls, he has to do something. He has rights too.
I wish these two would get their stuff together. They need to get over their differences because that child loves them both from what I see.
Why couldn’t his ex wife at least try to come up with another day he could come and get her? That’s what I don’t understand.
Because she didn’t want to. Tyrese and his ex-wife had a terrible breakup. They hate each other. LOL.
Real talk, this is the kind of stuff that turns me off from marriage. When it works, it’s a beautiful thing but when it doesn’t…man this is how it’s like. Crazy.
Smh some women just crazy.I hate to see women not allow a child’s father to be in the child’s life because of how they feeling. I don’t care how mad I am at my child’s father if he wants to see him I’m gone let him. I want mine to have both parents in their life whether we together or not. I personally don’t have anything to do with the little girl being sick. She trifling for that.
I think he shouldn’t request her to be jailed. I know it hurts but he has to be the bigger person because God sees all and you will always reap what you sow. Keep being a good father Tyrese and let Norma get what’s coming to her for all of this. Don’t stoop to her level because you too will have to deal with karma for doing so.
That’s sad. Their daughter should not have to suffer just because they didn’t work out. There are too many children with no fathers today, this has to stop.
She must be mad because he makeing money and she’s not, get over it girl he love his child and he have move on let it go and move on too and be thankful he the a father that want to be with his child so many dad don’t but he do.
