In television news, it appears VH1 has opted to put an end to “Single Ladies.” In the wake of the extreme successes of “Scandal” and “Being Mary Jane,” the network has announced it is canceling the scripted drama starring LisaRaye McCoy.
Interestingly enough, the show’s end appears to be taking place despite it having strong ratings. “Single Ladies” averaged around 2.2 million viewers per episode.
Deadline reports:
Single Ladies helped usher drama series programming on VH1. Now the show, from Queen Latifah‘s Flavor Unit, is set to end its run after three seasons. Single Ladies‘ third season is currently airing, with the upcoming March 24 season finale serving as series finale. “We’ve been proud to deliver three seasons of the drama, romance and style that engaged viewers in each episode of Single Ladies,” VH1 said in a statement to Deadline. “Although we’ve decided not to move forward with another season, we hope to work again with the talented cast, creatives and producers as well as our partners at Flavor Unit Entertainment in the near future. We also thank the show’s fans for their support since the premiere in 2011.”
Good riddance!
I use to rush and change the channel every time this show came on. LOL.
LOL me too girl.
I never liked this show. I couldn’t get past the bad acting.
It wasn’t good when Stacey Dash was on it but when she left it got even worse.
Can’t say I’m going to miss it.
Wow. I thought they would bring it back for another season.
i can’t believe it lasted this long.
I juts couldn’t get into this! I feel like they were trying so hard to make it another Sex And the City but there can never be another!
VH1 better do something because they have too many reality shows and not much else.
The only thing I liked about this show was the clothes they wore…
I just couldn’t get into it. My bf watched it because of his fetish with LisaRaye so I had to suffer through it occasionally. Not too sad to see it go…
lisaraye’s the real mccoy reality show was 100000000x more enjoyable for me than THIS show.
