Mendeecees Harris and Yandy Smith-Harris got married live on VH1 with a very glamorous ceremony, but it was kind of hard for the couple to completely enjoy their big day because the possibility of Mendeecees returning to prison for federal drug charges is hard not to constantly think about.
Unfortunately for the couple, hope couldn’t keep Mendeecees from being sent back to prison.
According to reports, he has been sentenced to eight years.

Sad but I think most of us expected this to be the outcome.
My heart breaks for his children. Why can’t people make better decisions? Do they not think of the consequences and how it could hurt they people they love? I know Yandy wasn’t in his life then but he didn’t even think of his future. This is just sad.
Agreed.
Damn homie.
And this is why it’s so important for people to understand every choice we make shapes our lives. And we must live in a way that reflects that. He’s probably not even the same person he was mentally when he did this but he has to pay for it now. It’s sad but it’s life too.
I bet he would do a lot of things differently if he had the chance.
I feel bad for Yandy and their kids.
Me too!
Well, it’s unfortunate. They will be okay. Eight years is a long time. I can’t bash him because most all do some things that we wish we could turn back the time and do it all over differently. I don’t know his reasoning nor his choices then but who am I to judge. Prayers for the both of them and that Yandy stay strong and keep him lifted while he is in.
Welp this sucks.
I think they knew this would happen so they went ahead and got married.
I just feel sorry for those kids. Whenever a parent is present everyday and all of a sudden is gone that takes a toll on kids.
Life isn’t always fair. He changed his ways and he still has to go away.
This is why we have to stop glamorizing selling drugs in our music. There’s nothing cool about a lifestyle that is taking fathers away from their children.
Yea. Exactly.
Damn.
So sad! I can’t stop thinking of the kids.
Man this is sad. Prayers up for all of them.
I feel bad for the kids but you do the crime (and you’re black), you will do the time. They don’t like to show black folks mercy in the courtrooms meanwhile a lot of crooked criminals in congress never end up in jail.
Of course he’s going back to prison. It’s sad but this ain’t shocking at all.
The street life will always catch up to you.
How disappointing. I was hoping this wouldn’t happen.
Aww f-ck. Keep ya head up Yandy.
