R&B singer Erykah Badu made headlines several days ago because she made a joke at the Soul Train Music Awards at Iggy Azalea’s expense.

As we reported recently, the joke was in reference to Iggy’s rapping skills, and it didn’t take Iggy long to respond subliminally on her Twitter account.

Although Erykah clapped back, in the end she did issue an apology to the Australian rapper (Iggy accepted).

Interestingly enough, now Erykah is getting called out because some are wondering if she took shots at the wrong artist.

  1. I can’t front. I really don’t understand why so many people still f-ck with R Kelly. That sh-t is a mystery to me.

  2. I doubt Erykah even wrote the joke. She went along with what the powers to be told her to do. And a lot of black people like to pretend what happened with R Kelly never happened. They’ve been having amnesia about him since he married Aaliyah. It’s messed up but it’s been like this for years. I personally don’t support sh-t he does. I can’t have that on my conscience.

  3. This writer is probably pro black women which makes this so hypocritical. What I mean by that is there’s a group of black women who are mad about the R Kelly situation because they think still supporting him means black women and black girls don’t matter in the black community. Yet they are turning right around to blame a black woman for R Kelly’s acceptance. How does that make sense to them? Be mad at R Kelly. Not Erykah. She didn’t write the biased rules of the black community.

  4. She makes a really good point. It’s odd because I remember how many black people crucified Michael (and he was actually innocent). Those same people didn’t love him again until he passed away.

  5. A lot of people were going on and on about R Kelly on social media though. But waiting for other artists to call him out would be a waste of time. They aren’t going to do it.

  6. Going after Iggy was planned and urged by the organizers. It was a just a publicity stunt Erykah was asked to do.

  7. I’m sorry but I completely agree. Too many of us are still kissing R Kelly’s a-s like he ain’t rape little black girls and even married one! We have to do better.
