Kevin Hart Talks Pissing off Michael Jordan

According to Kevin Hart, Michael Jordan invited him to host one of his charity events, and things got really awkward when the comedian decided to roast him on stage.

Complex Magazine writes:

While speaking with Jimmy Kimmel, Hart talked about how was asked to perform at a hoity-toity event in Las Vegas once for MJ’s charity. While there, he roasted MJ on stage in front of everyone at the event and touched on topics like his weak pants game and that Hitler mustache MJ had for awhile. MJ was apparently not amused. The crowd, probably following his lead, was also not amused. And it led to a really awkward encounter between Hart and Jordan later.

Here’s the story Hart told to Kimmel:

I pissed Mike off. He had an event, Mike had a charity event in Las Vegas. They called me, they wanted me to host the event. So I get there to host the event, and it’s something where they’re auctioning things and, you know, it’s a real tight crowd. Very bourgeois. Everybody’s neck was really straight.

So I get up there and I’m like, ‘Hey, man, loosen up, you’re here to have a good time.’ So as I’m saying stuff, I lock eyes with Mike. He’s in the front row, and I start teasing him. I was like, ‘Man, what age do you get to where it’s okay to wear your pants that high and nobody addresses it?’ I said, ‘You’re telling me I’m the only one that think Mike is past the legal limit at the waist?’ It was fun jokes! He had the little square mustache at the time and I was like, ‘What is that?’ I said, ‘It looks like a thumbprint.’ Nobody is laughing! It got to the point where nobody is laughing, right? He’s looking straight. He’s actually giving me a look like, ‘You gonna keep on going? You ain’t gonna stop?’ I don’t care. I’m having a good time. I was laughing. I may or may not have been drunk at the time.

So I remember I hit him with one more and nobody said nothing. So I’m like, ‘Whatever.’ It gets over and I see him and I’m like, ‘What up, Mike? Hey.’ And he shook my hand and squeezed it real hard and was like, ‘You have a good day.’ I ain’t see him since. He’s still my favorite player, though, and if I see him again, I’m gonna ask him about it and be like, ‘You better lose the ’tude.’

I’m big on telling people things that make me uncomfortable. If there’s something that you’re doing or something about your appearance that makes me uncomfortable, I’m going to address it. Mike’s pants made me uncomfortable! It was like a dress pant. It wasn’t a jean. It was a slack! Who wears a slack up here?!
