Lee Daniels Calls Black Actors Who Speak Out Against Lack of Diversity in Hollywood ‘Whiny’

When it comes to the lack of diversity in Hollywood, Lee Daniels is just not here for those who point it out.

In fact, he feels they are just “whiny.”

In an interview with the New York Times, he didn’t hold back.

He says:

“Go out and do the work. Oscars so white! So what? Do your work. Let your legacy speak and stop complaining, man. Are we really in this for the awards?

“If I had thought that way — that the world was against me — I wouldn’t be here now. These whiny people that think we’re owed something are incomprehensible and reprehensible to me. I don’t expect acknowledgment or acceptance from white America. I’m going to be me.”

    1. Yas! I’m so glad someone said this. This man does not respect his own people but he knows not to ever come for the gays. So I’m not going to break my neck to support him.

  1. This man has a lot of issues and his hate for blackness is odd since he enjoys making money from it. It’s unfortunate that good people like Taraji, Jussie and Queen Latifah continue to work with him. He doesn’t deserve them.

  2. Let him keep talking. I honestly think he’s the main reason Empire’s ratings keep going down lower and lower each episode. People are tired of him and his anti blackness can be seen in the writing of the show. He’s the same one who made Taraji wear a gorilla suit and mock Black Lives Matter. That said it all to me and I’m so glad he continues to prove how much of a c–n he is in his interviews too.

  3. I wish he would shut his c–n a-s up. If black actors didn’t speak up, no progress would be made. Hell black actors speaking up is why he even got his big break. But he’s too arrogant to see that sh-t. I’m sick of these sellouts puffing their chests out and acting like they got themselves where they are. No b-tch n-gga, God and those whiny motherf-ckers you can’t stand paved the way for your worthless a-s.

  4. I’m glad most of our ancestors didn’t have this mentality. They called out injustice and demanded that we have equal rights. Fools like Lee Daniels probably thought that was being whiny too back then. Yes, we shouldn’t let things like racism hold us back (and many of us don’t) but to be silent doesn’t make sense. So many areas of entertainment are progressing because black actors said something. He ought to be ashamed of himself.
