As we reported recently, Vivica Fox received backlash after she claimed gay men would not be allowed to see her male dancers entertain.
Her own business partner, Jean-Claude LaMarre, called her out for her comments, and he told TMZ he’s not interested in working with her again if the reality show gets renewed for a second season.
Interestingly enough, Vivica claims the whole controversy was just a misunderstanding.
She tells Hip Hollywood:
“Totally, I feel like I was completely misunderstood. It happens. The unfortunate thing about our society is when you do interviews, people are looking for a moment to take it sensitive, to be…to get offended…
“The show’s been taped. We don’t discriminate against anyone. I’m all about love. Not hate. I have been a friend and supporter of the LGBT community for years.”
Vivica feels like the Kim Burrell situation may be the reason she is getting so much backlash:
“I definitely think coming off the heels of that happening that they didn’t even listen to the [interview]. They just said, ‘she’s homophobic!’ And I’ve never been that way.”
And on her business partner Jean-Claude LaMarre telling TMZ he’s cutting ties with her:
“Oh, he’s not a factor as far as I’m concerned. He hasn’t worked on the show in months. I had no idea that he said he’d broken ties with me. He hasn’t worked on the show in months. So, I don’t know where that comment came from. We wish him the best.
“Season two of ‘Vivica’s Black Magic,’ he won’t be a part of it so there’s no breaking ties.”

Yeah I don’t think she should blame anything on the Kim Burrell situation. That’s just more bad PR.
Exactly. Vivica just needs to get some media training because she keeps her foot in her mouth.
I see she hasn’t learned anything. There’s a such thing as talking too much.
*blank stare*
She really needs to work on her interviewing skills. Like right now.
