Mo is guest hosting on The Morning Talk for a week.
She brings up the fact that Maxine is now dating her door man and she jokingly suggests Maxine may have always dated the help over the years and no one knew.
As Mo laughs loudly with the rest of the The Morning Talk panel, Maxine gets angry as she struggles to change the channel thanks to dead batteries.
She settles for flipping the bird at the TV.
William comes clean to Shawn.
William tells Shawn that he would fake deliver packages to Maxine so they could see each other.
“At least it makes sense. All those new packages, nothing new in the apartment.” – Shawn
The paparazzi crowds around the building, hoping to get new pictures of Maxine and William. William says he wants to lay low until they become old news.
He doesn’t want to go to the Daytime TV Awards with Maxine, but she tells him she needs his support. She even surprises him with a brand new Armani suit.
On the way to the studio, Maxine tells Shawn she knows it has to be strange for him to see her and William be in a relationship. But he tells her that’s not what has been on his mind.
He reveals he’s been thinking about the night Ted died. He has an appointment with Detective Stagliano the next day, and he’s a little nervous.
Maxine tells him to just say what they discussed.
Shawn asks Maxine if she killed Ted that night and she says she didn’t. She assures him that his death was an accident.
“Ted fell and hit his head.” – Maxine
The network wants Mo back.
Heather, Kibby, Maxine and Nina start looking for outfits to wear to the Daytime TV Awards. But they aren’t expecting to win since the lose out to The Morning Talk every year.
Heather tries to convince the ladies to wear her line, Blessed by Heather. No one is interested.
Shawn reminds everyone that The Lunch Hour is hosting a gifting suite for the Daytime TV Awards. Nina thinks gifting suites are disgusting and just bring out the worst in people. However, Shawn says attendance is mandatory.
Maxine learns on air that Mo will be there since she was also nominated with the rest of the ladies.
Kibby’s younger sister Tandy informs her that she wants to start acting. She denies that it’s their mother’s idea. She will borrow one of Kibby’s dresses to wear to the Daytime TV Awards. She’s going to be Kibby’s plus one.
Network head Jason tell Maxine that the network misses Mo because her personality was great for ratings. She’s doing a great job on The Morning Talk and they notice. They will have Kali, a YouTube sensation, on for a week and see how she does. Maxine isn’t impressed since Kali’s YouTube fame stems from her ability to stuff her mouth with a lot of marshmallows.
Mo shows up to the studio and has a face-off with Maxine.
Mo shows up to the studio and says she’s there to pick up her tickets for the Daytime TV Awards. Maxine reminds her that the tickets are always mailed and Mo admits she’s just there to be messy.
She confirms that she in talks to become a permanent co-host on The Morning Talk. She reminds Maxine that The Morning Talk always beats The Lunch Hour at the Daytime TV Awards.
Maxine gets salty and tells her to leave.
Later Mo tells her hair stylist that The Morning Talk is interested and not to tell anyone. When Mo gets up to go to the bathroom, her stylist tweets out the news.
Kali comes to the dressing room but rubs the ladies the wrong way because she won’t put her phone down and doesn’t know any of their names because she doesn’t watch the show.
Heather embarrasses Kali during the show when she questions Kali’s favorite charity, Phoneless and Homeless. The organization provides poor people with cell phones. On air, Heather asks Kali who is going to pay the cell phone plans and Kali doesn’t have an answer.
Shawn speaks to Detective Stagliano.
He recounts what happened the night Ted died and it matches Maxine’s story. As he gets up to leave, the detective asks how long Maxine has been dating William. Shawn tells him a year.
Since Kali didn’t work out, Jason tells Maxine that the network is thinking about bringing Mo back permanently. Shawn brings up the fact that Mo was fired for s*xual harassment, but Jason says he can make it go away.
“She was f*cking in my chair. That’s never going away.” – Maxine
Later, Shawn tells Maxine he agrees that Mo should return. Her loud personality is what’s in with viewers.
Nina finds a designer bag she really likes at the gifting suite, but tries to be discrete since she’s morally against the event.
Nina runs into Star Jones at the gifting suite for the Daytime TV Awards. Star takes interest in Nina’s new bag after she places it down to look at another. After Nina wins the bag war, Star tells her to watch her back given her connections and the fact that she’s an attorney.
Brad catches up with Heather on the red carpet.
Mo is hosting on the red carpet on behalf of Fashion Cops, Brad seeks out Heather.
Brad is at the Daytime TV Awards with ESPN. He runs into Heather and tells her she looks great in the dress she designed and apologizes for his tabloid popular relationship. He also confirms that he’s now single.
Kibby’s mother pulls up to the event wearing the dress she gave Tandy to wear. Kibby shames her for blocking Tandy from attending the awards show. Her mother says she just wants to drink and have a good time. Kibby reminds her that she’s a recovering alcoholic and she is disgusted by her actions.
Nina talks to Mo about her look for the night and Star Jones interrupts the conversation as the cameras roll. She mentions that the designer who made Nina’s bag used child labor in India to make it. Nina is horrified.
“I would think that a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist would know better.” – Star
Not to long after Vance makes an appearance on the red carpet and Mo invites Kibby over so they can have a reunion since he played her dad on her first TV show as a child actress. Kibby isn’t interested and walks away uncomfortably.
Brad sits at the Lunch Hour table with Heather and passes on siting at the ESPN table to flirt with Heather all night.
Jason tells Maxine he wants her back on the show but she tells him she’s talking over her offer with The Morning Talk seriously.
Kibby tells her mother Vance is looking for an actress to play his daughter for his new show and her mother this Tandy will be a great fit. This angers Kibby, who reminds her mother what Vance did to her when she was 14. She’s disgusted that her mother would put her sister in the same situation.
Heather finds out she had a nip slip in one of her pictures on the red carpet. She panics in the bathroom with Kibby.
William accidentally slips up and reveal he’s been with Maxine for five years to Shawn.
In the bathroom, Nina and Kibby help Heather figure out that the flash from cameras are exposing her boobs.
“I just wanted a fabric that was breathable!” – Heather
In a surprising twist, The Lunch Hour wins the award and Mo goes up to give the acceptance speech. Mo says that she respects Maxine even though she fired her.
Maxine then gives her speech and invites Mo back on the show. Mo accepts and mentions she will need to match the 20% bump The Morning Talk offered.
After Maxine and Mo’s speeches, Nina makes a speech and promises to donate money to organizations who fight against child labor. When she asks the audience to join her, it’s crickets.
While walking away from the stage, Kibby tells Vance she will kill him if he touches Tandy.
Later Maxine finds out Mo lied about the offer thanks to one of the women on The Morning Talk.
William snaps, Kibby relapses.
As Maxine and William leave the show, a reporter asks William how it feels to known Maxine will make more money in a year than he ever will in his entire life.
William yells at him and Maxine tells him he has to learn how to deal with bad press. William corrects her and tells her she has to deal with it, not him.
He walks off.
“This was a mistake.” – Maxine
“Trouble in paradise?” – Reporter
“Please respect my privacy.” – Maxine
Vance hops in Kibby’s car and tries to apologize for hurting her while she was a child. He says he was just trying to protect her since her mom wasn’t. He says they had a good time but Kibby says only he had a good time. She doesn’t accept his “apology” and screams for him to leave.
He exits out of the car.
Heather and Brad get freaky during their ride home.
Nina and Shawn are back on good terms and he tells her he’s glad she’s in his life. He knows Maxine is lying to him about Ted’s death but he’s thankful Nina is around to make him feel better.
After Tandy texts Kibby to let her know their mother got her an audition for Vance’s new show, Kibby relapses and has a drink in the car.
Maxine and William decide to put the relationship back on the DL after he has blowup on the red carpet.
In a flashback scene, William checks Ted’s pulse and tells Maxine he’s dead. He tells her to wait before she calls the police.
