Torrei Hart Calls out Amber Rose for Controversial Comments About People from Philly

Amber Rose’s feminism is once again being questioned thanks to her recent comments about beauty and people from Philly.

In the interview, Amber said:

I don’t know how to say this without sounding f*cked up but a lot of the people where I’m from aren’t traditionally attractive people. And for me, being blessed with beauty, as beautiful women know, is a blessing and a curse.

And to grow up in such an area and be blessed with beauty, it was difficult for me and a lot of people used to be like, ‘You ain’t from South Philly. You’re from California or something.’

Interestingly enough, Torrei Hart responded to the comments via TMZ.

In the video, she said:

Is Amber Rose speaking about per-surgery or post-surgery? That’s the question. Now if she’s talking about post surgery, of course she’s not going to look like anybody that’s in the South Philly area or North Philly, West Philly part of Philly because she has enhancements. So she’s not going to look like the everyday girl.

But I think Amber, she got it a little twisted, too. She let these men gas her up a little bit. She forgot that these men will tell you whatever they need to tell you to get in those drawers. So they gon gas you up, they gon tell you, ‘Oh baby you look beautiful. You know you the most beautiful girl on the Earth.’ Whatever they do, whatever they game is. I don’t even know because I don’t even get game like that. But they gon tell her whatever she needs to know, whatever she needs to hear to get to the drawers. And after they get the drawers, they out. It is what it is.

So I think she’s out here, she got caught up a little bit and she’s letting these men gas her up. It’s plenty of naturally beautiful people in Philadelphia. And I think the platform that she’s on, she needs to be more responsible with the word choices because there’s a lot of young girls that look up to her. They’re taking her words, they’re taking everything that she said and they are holding onto those words. For her to say something like that, there’s young girls with self-esteem issues. They could feel like, ‘Okay, I want to be like Amber Rose but I have no chance of being like Amber Rose.’

And I’ma take it there, people commit suicide everyday because of self-esteem issues. So with the type of platform that she has, it’s about using that platform wisely. And not just saying whatever you feel like coming out your mouth that moment because come on, I mean she’s like almost 40 years old now? What is like 35? 36? I don’t know. But you can’t keep saying the same things you were saying back at 20 when you were stripping in the strip club because let’s face, Kanye came and saved you. And now, he’s on to the next.

And I actually like Amber. I rock with Amber. But I can’t rock with what she said in that radio interview. I can’t.

Speaking of Amber, she did apologize for her comments on Instagram Live:

  1. Actually Amber doesn’t understand what game is. That’s why she puts so much value in plastic surgery and not wearing clothes on the gram. She lives for the validation from men.

  2. Amber needs to go on somewhere with that wack a-s apology. And Torrei lost me when she said that little girls look up to Amber. I sure hope not. Cause that would be a parenting fail.

  3. Valid points made. Amber’s got to be held accountable for face shaming. Her cause is laughable and this is part of why her rants on other topics are not taken seriously.

  4. Speak on it, Torrei. I’m really glad she brought up the fact that so many girls look up to Amber and it could really affect their self esteem. If you guys only saw the comments when this was posted on the Shaderoom….so many black women caping for Amber, literally saying “I don’t care what she said, I still love her”. Like do you not think of the young girls listening to Amber, and then seeing fellow black women cosigning her comments? These girls are going to think this is OK and it’s not. At all.

    1. Those are the same idiots that keep the Kardashians in business. It’s sad as f-ck that the black community is keeping idiots like Amber and the Kardashians famous and rich. Especially when they think we are inferior to them.

  5. I love how she pointed out that Amber is getting too old to be saying the dumb stuff she says. She seems like an airhead.

  6. You can’t just make any random chick famous. Eventually they believe the hype and remind you of how basic they were all along.
