Actress Nia appeared on TV One’s “Uncensored” Sunday night. During her episode, Nia addressed criticisms she received over being perceived as difficult to work with.
It’s been reported Nia and “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson allegedly faced off on the “Empire” set over her perceived treatment of the show’s make-up artists. She was also accused of being difficult on the set with other cast members.
Nia responded to the rumors and defended her reputation.
During the episode, Nia Long said the following:
When I started really working as an actress, there were about four of us. Jada Pinkett-Smith, Halle Berry, Regina King and Jasmine Guy. But the women that I was in constant competition with, mostly it was me and Jada.
I was like, “Oh. Do you want the brown skin spicy girl, or do you want the light-skinned spicy girl?”
Which one do you want?
And if you look at the history of film during that time, you will see how we were divided. But, we both contributed something to this industry that… It simply states, and says without being said, we opened doors for brown girls to be exactly who we are. And that’s beautifully complicated.
And so it’s been a blessing and a curse, because here’s what I do know:
Nia Long knows her light, Nia long knows her makeup, Nia Long knows her hair. And you probably can’t talk me into something else, unless you show me.
If you want to call that difficult, then… sorry.

So in other words the tea was true.
Chile…
Well alrighty then. This was another way to say, “I said what I said.”
People are so quick to say a black woman is hard to work with. Yet there are white actors much worse and they stay booked. I’m really giving Lee and Taraji the side eye for throwing Nia under a bus to TMZ.
It sounds like the rumors were true. She clearly had disagreements with the makeup and hair crew. She may not have liked what they wanted to do with her and didn’t mince words. And I can see Taraji having an issue with that because that’s not how she gets down. But I hope they squashed it and there’s no beef between them.
Exactly. I think it’s safe to say she burned a bridge with Taraji. Taraj’s rep is she treats everybody with respect no matter what their job title is.
Taraji is very humble baby you gotta remember Taraji just got her come up in the 2000s. Even Sommore says she don’t fk with her own sister. She says that’s her fathers daughter.
I already knew that Empire story was true because I’ve seen her stank a-s attitude happen in real life. I remember Kendrick Lamar just started blowing up and he tried to hug her and she just looked at him like he was trash from the streets.
How did Tarji throw her under the bus?
Huh? I never said she did.
Lol..i wasn’t referring to you..well damn how many Anonymous is it? Well to which ever 1 side they were giving Lee Daniels and Taraji the side eye for throwing Nia under the bus with TMZ..
So in essence errybody was right!
Exactly and I don’t know why her attitude is that stank, she’s a B- Actress at Best. I’ve never seen her play leading lady in ANY sitcom or movie. She’s always the supporting character. I’d watch Gabrielle Union 100X b4 I’d even click to something Nia Long is in. I couldn’t even tell you when’s the last time she had a box office hit.
She confirmed the tea in her own way.
Yeah but you don’t have to be rude to the damn beauty and hair people. You can disagree with their suggestions without being an a-shole.
