The eighth season of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” started this past Monday, and one of the biggest storylines is Kirk Frost learning that he is indeed the father of Jasmine Washington’s baby.

Another big focus of the season is Erica Mena’s return to the franchise.

Erica decided to leave the show at the suggestion of her ex fiance Bow Wow, and some suspect she may have been looked at as a possible replacement for Joseline Hernandez.

Interestingly enough, it appears that none of these details are helping the ratings.

The show is a former shell of itself. A lot of the people from season one are gone. And Joseline leaving has changed things completely.

That’s a huge drop. I think people underestimated Joseline’s significance. Especially Mona.

I guess Mona thought with out Joseline the show will do well… I still don’t get why Kirk and Rasheeda still on the show. Monday episode was lackluster. I’m happy for Jessica dime tho

The show went downhill in season 2. It’s the same storyline each season

    The thrill is gone.

I’m not surprised. Joseline is gone and Rasheeda and Kirk dragged out their storyline for two seasons.

Of course the ratings dropped. Say what you want but Joseline brought in a lot of eyeballs. She’s polarizing and you either love her or hate her but you damn sure were going to watch the show because she was on it. Take that away and it just doesn’t feel the same. Also add that the fact that they tried to replace her with Estelita and it’s disrespectful. She does not have the personalty to replace Joseline. Erica Mena also isn’t a draw anymore. Especially when she’s intertwined into Stevie J. And where is Scrappy? Momma Dee? I miss Erica Dixon too. Bambi? K Michelle…etc. It’s just not the same.

The ratings will probably keep dropping. Just from the previews, the season seems like it’s going to be underwhelming.

Mona thought she didn’t need Joseline. I guess she was wrong about that.

Joseline is the show for a lot of people. I also don’t find Stevie all that interesting now without her tbh.

Yes, she is. She is truly nuts. Joseline was just a jerk.

Then why don’t the ratings reflect that sis? Tommie can’t even carry the show with Joseline gone.

I don’t think Joseline’s absence is the main cause of the ratings dropping. People are sick of the same tired FAKE storylines, people are tired of them forcing random people onto us who we never heard of yet they come on the show name dropping A & B-listers they’ve worked with. TBH This goes for all of the franchises. Love & Hip Hop at it’s best was during the Jim Jones & Chrissy era. It was REAL and it was RAW!

One million down on the season premiere is a pretty big deal. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it happened when Joseline left. She has a big role in that but it’s also obvious that the franchise in itself has gotten stale. The storylines are literally always the same on all the shows.

Ratings have dropped for all of the LHH shows I think–not just for LHHATL. Joseline or no Joseline, I think people are just getting tired of the same old stuff.

The other franchises were always boring, but ATL ratings remained consistently high, this is the first time the ratings have tanked. Joseline had a major factor in that. Joseline was also the only cast member who was getting real world celebrity attention. She even co-hosted on the Real for a week.
