When it comes to her personal life, actress Tika Sumpter likes to remain as private as possible.
So many were shocked when she announced her pregnancy back in 2016. She did not want to reveal her daughter’s father at the time. However, it later came out that she’s been dating her “The Haves and the Have Nots” costar Nick James.
Tika announced their engagement last year and opened up about her relationship to Wendy Williams.
Here’s what she had to say when Wendy asked her if she and Nick are married now:
So, I’m engaged.
But we’ve been engaged for like two years because everything happened so fast. I met him on ‘The Have and Have Nots.’
We were in a scene and he was making me laugh the entire time.
Wendy asked Tika if people are critical about the interracial relationship on social media.
She said:
There are a few haters. Which is fine because I feel like something’s going on in your own life that you’re not happy about for you to be all up in my love life.
I fell in love with who I fell in love with. And that’s the end of the story. But you’re not going to play him and you’re not going to play me. I may be cute and sweet but I will clap back.
