According to TMZ, Jussie Smollett was the victim of a violent attack around 2am on Monday.
The actor was in Chicago filming “Empire,” when he decided to head to a local Subway to buy something to eat.
After he purchased his food, he was greeted outside by two white men wearing ski masks.
One reportedly yelled, “Aren’t you that f***ot ‘Empire’ n*****?”
They then viciously began to attack Jussie, and even though the actor fought back, he was beat badly and his rib was fractured.
The men then put a noose around Jussie’s neck and poured bleach on him.
Before leaving the scene, they also yelled, “This is MAGA country.”
Jussie survived the attack and was treated at Northwestern Memorial. He was discharged earlier today.
Interestingly enough, eight days before the attack, Jussie was sent a threatening letter by the way of FOX Studios in Chicago.
The letter read, “You will die black f*g.”
That Grape Juice was the first to break the story.
UPDATE: According to the Chicago Police Department, the attack is now being investigated as a hate crime.
