RHOP Recap: Karen & Gizelle Clash in New Orleans + Candiace Fails to Set Boundaries with Dorothy

It’s the morning after Uncle Lump’s eventful birthday party.

Candiace still has a hangover. She recalls Michael saying he wouldn’t mind sucking one of the husband’s d-cks.

So she calls up Robyn who decides not to bring it up. And Candiace decides not to bring it up as well.

Back at Gizelle’s place, she’s writing down a list of qualities she needs in a man.

Her daughters are nearby teasing her.

They ask her what she’s doing and she explains she’s writing the list for therapeutic reasons. She’s also planning on going back to New Orleans to get her mind right.

She’s not from there but her parents were born and raised there. So it feels like another home to her.

Gizelle invited the other ladies too so they can get to know the real her.

She shows her daughter pictures of their relatives.

They discuss Sherman. Gizelle tells them it’s over and she’s going to eventually date other guys.

Candiace has a bond with Karen.

Karen has Candiace come along as she gets some dental work done.

They discuss the fact that Gizelle invited her to New Orleans. She’s not sure how the trip will go.

Candiace wonders if Ashley is going to actually stop drinking ahead of the trip since she wants to get pregnant. But Candiace doubts this.

In a green screen interview, Candiace says Karen is like her surrogate mother. She can’t remember the last time she had a “light day” with her mom Dorothy.

Later on, Ashley and Michael discuss the upcoming trip to New Orleans. With Karen and Monique still not talking to her, she’s not sure how the trip will be.

Candiace gets real with Dorothy.

She FaceTimes her to discuss having boundaries. Candiace feels like her mother always brings up all the things she does for Candiace financially. And she would like her mom to stop doing this when she gets upset.

Dorothy says that most moms wouldn’t even be doing all she does for Candiace.

Candiace says she never knows if her mom will sell her house out of anger.

Dorothy reminds Candiace that she’s been living in the house fo six years and she’s never even paid rent.

Feeling like her mom still isn’t listening, she ends the FaceTime conversation.

“This is why I don’t do this. It’s like talking to a f*cking wall.” – Candiace

Through tears, Candiace says she wishes she had the same type of relationship she has with Karen with her mom.

Gizelle attends another expo to promote Every Hue Beauty.

Karen comes by to show support.

In a green screen interview, Karen says that she is in a much better place with Gizelle.

After Gizelle introduces Karen Germaine, a woman who can help her get her perfume in more places, Gizelle is annoyed by the fact that Karen is opening up to her about her business ideas. This is something she wouldn’t do with Gizelle.

Monique is getting ready for the trip. She’s happy to be in a good place with Gizelle.

The ladies make it to their hotel in New Orleans.

Gizelle invites Katie to her presidential suite so she can keep an eye on her.

Later on, the women attend a cooking class where they cook crawfish and alligator.

After they finish, they eat and talk.

Karen and Gizelle hit another bump in the road.

Gizelle tells all the women how she introduced Karen to Germaine at the expo to see if Germaine could help Karen with her perfume launch.

She feels it’s not fair that Karen wouldn’t share her business plans in prior conversations.

They are supposed to be friends.

Gizelle says she just wants Karen to open up a little bit.

“Do you really want me to be your friend?” – Gizelle

As Gizelle tries to make her point, Karen gets up and decides to walk away.
