Karen and Gizelle come to an understanding.
After Karen leaves the restaurant, Candiace walks behind her to talk.
Gizelle explains to Monique that Karen asks for things from friends that she’s not willing to give herself.
Karen tells Candiace that she doesn’t want to talk business with friends. And she feels like Gizelle just attacked her.
But she agrees to go back inside the restaurant.
When Karen returns, she tells Gizelle that she may be able to open up about business stuff to her eventually. She also thanks Gizelle for introducing her to someone who can help her launch her fragrance.
Dorothy crosses the line.
They change the topic and Candiace tells them Dorothy called her a “dumb a*s b*tch.”
The rest of the women tell her that this is not okay.
Monique tells Candiace she will have to do something drastic to change the relationship for the better.
When they return to the hotel, Gizelle and Candiace discuss Karen.
Candiace tells Gizelle she’ll need to come from a more tender place to get Karen to open back up.
“But she’s very defensive.” – Gizelle
While Candiace agrees with this, she says Karen is grieving so it’s okay to not challenge her right now.
After Katie says she wonders if Ashley is pregnant, Candiace says that she’s been drinking too much to be pregnant.
She then says that she wouldn’t be drinking if she was trying to get pregnant if she had a miscarriage like Ashley did.
Later on, Ashley calls her mom and tells her she got her period. She’s disappointed she’s not pregnant. But she’s going to keep trying.
Monique is planning to throw a party for her “rainbow baby.” A rainbow baby is the baby who is born after a miscarriage.
She tells Karen that she’s still not on good terms with Chris’ mom.
The next day Gizelle wants the women to head to a plantation.
She says this is where her roots are.
On the way there, she tells the women her father is in politics. He lives in Atlanta.
He’s even been in the presence of MLK.
As they talk about DNA tests, Robyn says she’s 59% European. She’s not thrilled about this.
When they get off the bus, they meet Gizelle’s dad Curtis.
He speaks to all the ladies.
It also happens to be his birthday. Curtis says he’s going to give them a tour of the plantation.
Curtis shows Gizelle her great grandmother and great grandfather.
Gizelle learns about how her ancestors were raped.
He also says slave owners had to give up collateral (slaves) to get loans. Curtis looks over at Karen and tells her he knows she understands this.
Monique says she can see where Gizelle gets her shadiness from in a green screen interview.
They also see where children who were born into slavery and died were buried.
This brings the women to tears.
They also learn that pregnant women were still whipped. There were holes in the ground for them to place their pregnant bellies into so they could be whipped on their backs.

It’s time for a night out.
Gizelle, Katie and Ashley meet at the lobby to go out.
Karen says she doesn’t want to go out. Instead, they catch her on Instagram doing a live session with her followers.
Candiace and Monique come down. Robyn is late as usual, so they head out without her.
The women drink, with the exception of Monique.
After Ashley has a shot, Candiace once again wonders if she needs to be doing this. After hours of dancing in clubs and drinking, they go back to the hotel to reunite with Robyn.
Katie puts Candiace on blast.
As they have drinks in the suite, Ashley talks about how hard it’s been to conceive.
Katie then says that Candiace said Ashley could get pregnant if she really wanted to.
Ashley asks Candiace what she meant by this.
“You don’t believe that I’m trying to get pregnant?” – Ashley
Ashley says Candiace is projecting.
But Candiace says Ashley is drinking like someone who doesn’t want to get pregnant.
Monique and Robyn correct Candiace and tell her that drinking won’t stop a woman from getting pregnant.
Ashley and Candiace clash.
Candiace says that the “residual” could be affected if a woman drinks.
Ashley reminds Candiace that she is not a doctor. Candiace says that her family members are doctors, so she knows what she’s talking about.
And she says she wouldn’t drink if she wanted to get pregnant.
Ashley calls Candiace judgmental.
She then says it’s out of line for Candiace to say these things when Ashley’s had a miscarriage.
