Taraji has been working diligently to bring awareness to the mental health issues in the black community.
A lot of people feel like black people aren’t encouraged enough to make mental health a priority.
And Taraji is trying to change that.
She started the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation back in 2018.
It was named in honor of her father, Boris Lawrence Henson, who suffered mental health challenges after his time in the Vietnam War.
Taraji appeared at the Congressional Black Caucus Taskforce forum on black youth suicide and and mental health recently to testify on mental health.
She posted about the appearance to her Instagram page.

One of her followers felt some type of way about this.
They couldn’t understand why the focus was placed on the black community only. The Instagram user also expressed that Taraji’s foundation should be for all races.
But Taraji and Tyrese both had time.
