Everyone sees the tension is thick.
The episode begins with Evelyn absolutely irked Jennifer showed up to San Diego with her friend Dominique. Despite the tension in the room, Jackie felt it was a good idea for everyone to pop bottles of champagne.
But this does nothing to soothe the tension and things get tense up, even more, when Kristen and Malaysia show up. OG wants to confront Malaysia for confronting her at CeCe’s event.
Meanwhile, Evelyn made it clear Evelyn isn’t going to dinner with Jennifer present, despite Shaunie’s plea. Malaysia doesn’t want to go to dinner either. Fortunately for the ladies, Jennifer decides to go sit at the pool and sip wine.
Evelyn’s also miffed Jennifer’s friend Dominique was pleading Jennifer’s case.
As Shaunie mulls things over, Jackie irks Kristen when Jackie claims the bigger room.
Evelyn nearly comes to blows with Jennifer and Dominique.
Things begin to boil over when Dominique, Jenn and OG head to the patio to sit with Evelyn and the other women. Jackie feels it’s a good idea for everyone to get all of their grievances off their chest. First, Evelyn questions Dominique and her defense of Jennifer. This devolves into another Evelyn and Jennifer shouting match.
Evelyn calls Jennifer a fake a** b***h and throws her drink at Jennifer. Jennifer responds by throwing her drink. That just escalates things even more.
Shaunie was hoping Evelyn and Jennifer could’ve resolved their issues without screaming. Unfortunately, security had to come out and do their best to keep Evelyn from coming after Jennifer.
When Jennifer left the balcony, Evelyn turned her energy to Dominique who didn’t back down. Jennifer had to come out and weakly pull her away. That led to Evelyn jumping across the patio furniture.
“Is it too late to get our money back?” – Shaunie
Meanwhile, Jennifer’s barking that Evelyn has been talking negatively about her mom. Evelyn says she wasn’t talking about her mom. She also wants the other ladies to talk to Dominique about why she’s so angry.
Jenn possibly comes clean.
Feby notes that she’s irritated too because she wanted to relax by the pool with a drink.
Meanwhile, Kristen’s friend Vinessa shows up late and Kristen and Feby tell her about Evelyn and Jennifer’s latest spat. Both of the ladies were hit by a drink when Evelyn and Jennifer confronted one another.
Jackie and Shaunie head to the guest house to “ponderosa” with Dominique and Jennifer and explain why Evelyn went off.
Dominique says she would never talk about Evelyn’s children and Jennifer says Dominique shouldn’t be in this. She instead wants the ladies to treat Evelyn the way they treated her over things said about her mom.
Jennifer begins crying when she brings up having to see her mother pass away. She then expresses hurt she feels she has none of the women on the show in her corner.
“ Basketball wives is supposed to be a sisterhood and right now, I don’t feel that sisterhood.” – Jennifer
That struck a nerve in Jackie and Shaunie and they shed tears too.
Interestingly enough, Jennifer admits that she said things wrong in the past but didn’t specifically refer to the rumors.
Kristen and Malaysia discuss Byron.
Malaysia’s ready to go home less than a day in San Diego but first, she tells Kristen about her conversation with Byron. She tells Kristen that Byron called Thomas his son and he never gave OG the information to weaponize it. Malaysia then tells Kristen about confronting OG afterwards and Kristen doesn’t want to even hear her name.
Later that night, Shaunie and Jackie head to Evelyn’s room about Jennifer’s dinner invitation. They tell Evelyn Dominique understands her beef, and what Jennifer said to them, including her round-about apology. In fact, Shaunie feels Jennifer is not okay mentally or emotionally. That breaks Evelyn down a little bit.
Evelyn still has feelings for Jennifer but still feels completely hurt by the rumor Jennifer spread.
So Evelyn’s cool with Jennifer coming to dinner. Shaunie even thinks Jennifer may apologize.
Jennifer retreats.
Everyone’s getting ready for dinner and Shaunie is hopeful Evelyn and Jennifer will kiss and make up. However, she notes that “all h*** could break loose” if Jennifer doesn’t say the right things to Evelyn.
All the ladies arrive at the dinner and Evelyn sits diagonally across from Jennifer out of arm’s reach.
Jackie suggests they play “Confession Session” where they have to answer questions truthfully. Things get tense when Kristen asks Jennifer if she thinks she and Malaysia she could get past their issues. Malaysia says no. Evelyn then asks Jennifer if she talked about Shanice and Jennifer says no.
This disappoints Jackie and Shaunie.
In a green screen interview, Jennifer says the dinner isn’t the time to talk about it. Meanwhile, Shaunie is irritated with Jennifer again.
Jennifer and Evelyn make progress.
The next day, everything seems calmer with everyone. Jennifer still wants to apologize to Evelyn, just not in front of everyone. Dominique also wants to cook breakfast so good, it will make everyone get along.
Evelyn is also apologetic for her behavior last night.
In the main house, Dominique tells Evelyn and Shaunie Jennifer wants to talk to Evelyn one on one and Evelyn wants her to do this in front of everybody.
Jennifer eventually joins everyone for breakfast and tells Shaunie about her feelings. Dominique goes to get Evelyn for their talk. In the room with Evelyn and Jennifer are Dominque and Shaunie. Jennifer finally opens up to Evelyn and apologizes.
She even sent an apology message to Shanice for everything that has been said that was hurtful.
As the tears flow on all sides, Evelyn accepts her apology. They hug it out.
