Are Issa and Molly still friends?
Season 4 begins with reporter Rose Cranberry speaking about a 26-year-old LaToya Thompson being involved in an incident at an Inglewood Red Lobster. Meanwhile, Issa’s on the phone telling someone that she doesn’t deal with Molly anymore.
Next, the episode does a flashback to four months before the block party. Molly comes over to Issa’s for their “Self-Care Sunday.” As they do yoga and smoke a joint, Issa tells Molly her life is finally getting into order.
Issa’s still getting help from Condola.
Later on, Issa meets up with Condola to go over the details for a mixer. During their lunch meeting, Condola gets a text from her love interest who happens to be Lawrence. That night, Molly’s on a bowling date with Andrew having a good time. Meanwhile, Issa’s having an awkward time in the bed with her TSA boo.
Before he leaves, he gives Issa Hennessy and contraband taken from the TSA security checkpoints.
The next day, Issa and Molly are out shopping and Issa’s nervous about the mixer. Molly’s bringing Andrew as her plus-1 and wants to know if Andrew could invite Nathan to the event. Issa says no.
Issa learns Condola’s dating Lawrence.
Issa’s meeting with Condola when Tiffany walks in with gifts. During their conversation, Tiffany and Condola reveal to Issa that Lawrence met Condola and they are currently dating. Tiffany also reveals that Issa and Lawrence are exes.
After things get awkward, Issa tries to call Molly and daydreams about Condola and Lawrence getting it in at the baby shower.

That night, Condola stops by Lawrence’s place. They were supposed to be having a wine and popcorn date. But Condola reveals to Lawrence that she’s working with Issa. He tells her that he was with Issa for 5 years but there’s no bad blood between them. Condola doesn’t know how to feel about this, so she cuts their night short.
The next day, Issa’s setting up for her mixer that’s being hosted at the apartment complex. Condola shows up and things are still awkward. She lets Issa know that Lawrence isn’t attending. Meanwhile, Andrew and Molly are on the way. Things get awkward between them when Andrew reveals he’s dating other people. This surprises Molly.
Kelli’s at the mixer as a bartender and she’s quite heavy-handed with the alcohol. Issa asks her how she would feel about being friends with someone dating her ex and Kelli jokes about getting even with a friend who did just that by setting them up for jail time.
Issa opens up at the mixer.
Next, Tiffany introduces Issa to Cheryl who’s interested in being a sponsor for the block party. During their conversation, things get even weirder between Condola and Issa as they talk over one another. Later on, Issa’s trying to sell the mixer to potential sponsors and she seemingly struggles.
When Andrew and Molly arrive, Molly seemingly ditches Andrew and makes a beeline for Issa. Molly seeks advice from Issa about Andrew but Issa is distracted by trying to raise money as her brother plays hilariously inappropriate music and her tenants seemingly crash the party.
In a moment of desperation, Issa gets on the mic and spills her heart out to the crowd about Inglewood, her block party idea, and thanks Condola for her support. As this occurs, Tiffany tells Molly about Condola dating Lawrence. Issa’s speech moves the crowd and she signs up 30 sponsors.
Molly opens up to Issa and Andrew.
When the event’s over, Molly decides to stay behind, letting Andrew grab an Uber home. Issa also lands a big donation from Cheryl and is congratulated by Kelli and a very pregnant and emotional Tiffany.
As they’re cleaning up, Molly opens up to Issa about her feelings for Andrew. Issa tells Molly to stop fronting. Molly flips this on her and says Issa should probably quit working with Condola, calling Issa messy for continuing the professional relationship. She also tells Issa that she likes to have drama in her life and that’s why she continues to deal with Condola.
Her words seemingly sting Issa but the two friends try not to make a big deal out of the conversation.
Afterward, Molly texts Andrew about her feelings. Meanwhile, Condola stops by Lawrence’s place. He asks if they’re good and she responds by kissing him and taking things to the bedroom. Issa also texts Condola thanking her for everything.
