Maurice confronts Martell.
The episode begins with Maurice confronting Martell about his fallout with Marsau. Maurice tells him Marsau apologized for making jokes about Martell’s affair. However, Martell doesn’t seem to accept it, especially since he says LaTisha lied about him buying his mistress a BMW. Maurice believes Martell doesn’t understand that Martell’s at the center of all the controversies. He also tells Martell that Marsau isn’t a malicious person. He brings up the apology Marsau gave Martell during their cabin trip. Martell feels Marsau was fake about it and only apologized because he knows the dirt Martell has on him.
After the baby shower, the Holts are at home, and Melody’s shocked at all of the gifts they received. This includes a gift from Kimmi and Maurice. As they unwrap gifts, they bring up how their fathers didn’t show up. While Martell’s fed up with his dad not coming to the baby shower, Melody brings up how she needs to make more of an effort to reach out to hers. Martell wants her dad around their kids because he would be a great influence on them. He then expresses more disappointment with his father and Melody also tells him to keep reaching out.
Marcus steps to Martell, defending Melody’s honor.
The next evening, Martell meets with Melody’s brother Marcus. When Martell meets with Marcus, Marcus jokes with Martell about buying an unbreakable ring, alluding to Matell’s infidelity. This leads to a conversation about this infidelity. Marcus believes Martell cheated on Melody due to his own insecurities. Martell denies sleeping with anyone but flashbacks play which show Martell admitting to this. Martell tells Marcus he doesn’t want to speak about this.
Production attempted to contact the mistress but did not receive a response before last week’s premiere.
The next day, Martell stops by Kimmi and Maurice’s to speak about what occurred at the baby shower. Kimmi tries to bring up Martell’s infidelity, saying Melody doesn’t deserve it. And his mistress didn’t either. She speaks the Mistress’s name and Martell tells Kimmi not to say her name. Kimmi says Martell has a big heart but he has trouble breaking things off with people like his Mistress.
Next, Kimmi brings up how Destiny felt offended by her comments on her green screen interview last season. Martell tells Kimmi Destiny’s fiery and will bite back. However, he believes they could become the best of friends because they are a lot alike.
Melody gives birth to Malani.
Back at home, Melody’s packing her hospital bag as she’s being induced soon. Melody has plans as her skincare line is debuting a few weeks later. While she’s packing, Martell gives Melody the push gift he bought while meeting with Marcus; a tennis bracelet. He also apologizes for everything he did. This gives Melody hope that their marriage will last.
Later on, Martell and Melody are nervous as they’re heading to the hospital with the kids. When they get to the hospital, labor’s induced and Martell’s recording everything. As Melody got the epidural, Martell compares his gall bladder rupturing to her labor pains. While annoyed by this, Melody’s answering emails regarding her beauty line. Eventually, Melody gave birth to their daughter. They decide to name their daughter Malani.
Melody kicks LaTisha out of her event.
It’s almost time for Melody’s reveal for her M’Brace skincare line and they’re at the venue meeting with the planners and caterers. Everything appears to be set up well but Martell and Melody are tired. Martell’s also stressed because money’s stretched across multiple businesses, plus they have Malani at home and Melody just had a car accident.
Eventually, Melody’s M’Brace Beauty event goes off without a hitch. As Melody and Martell are greeting guests, Destiny and La’Berrick show up and are greeted by the Holts. Kimmi walks in and also greets the Holts but ignores Destiny and La’Berrick.
Next, as Melody thanks all her guests and introduces her partners, LaTisha shows up. Melody sees LaTisha walk in and pauses her speech. LaTisha wasn’t invited and Melody’s ready to enforce this. Kimmi sees LaTisha and is shocked to see her. As they talk, Melody pulls Martell aside to find security. Martell’s shocked at what Melody’s going to do which is to have security escort LaTisha out of the event.
