‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Recap: A Twist Just Made Things Much Harder

On the midseason finale of “Power Book II: Ghost,” Tariq celebrates his 18th birthday. However, he doesn’t have much time to party. He’s still busy trying to get Tasha released from prison. But they hit a snag once it becomes clear that Tameika must testify.

This poses a problem for Tariq and Saxe. Tameika knows Saxe was at Truth the night of Ghost’s murder. And she’ll have no choice but to say this when she’s on the stand. And if she does this, Saxe will have to testify that he saw Tariq. So they have to get Maclean to withdraw the subpoena.

After Maclean becomes suspicious about why Tasha doesn’t want Tameika to testify, Tameika comes clean.

As for Saxe, his niece’s messy meddling pays off big time. After she drugs Tariq, he heads to the cemetery and makes a confession Saxe can use later.

So when Maclean thinks he has the upper hand with Saxe, Saxe plays the video. This now forces both men to realize that they have a common goal that will now require them to work together.

While Tariq may be making progress with Monet, a new target is placed on his back.

Here’s a recap for, “The Gift of the Magi.”
