Gizelle Bryant is struggling to accept her daughters aren’t over the past.
It hasn’t been easy for Gizelle Bryant to handle the reactions her daughters and father have had about her reconciliation with Jamal Bryant. The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star even got emotional about her daughters’ lack of enthusiasm earlier in the season. What she couldn’t understand is why the girls were more excited about her past relationship with Sherman Douglas.
Her close friend told her that it’s likely they haven’t forgotten how Jamal hurt Gizelle in the past. They aren’t sure things will be different this time around. So they aren’t comfortable with Jamal and Gizelle being back together.
Another awkward conversation takes place.
On the upcoming episode, Gizelle has another difficult conversation with her daughters about Jamal. They are out at a restaurant celebrating Grace Bryant turning 15 years old.
While at the table, Gizelle tells Grace, Adore Bryant, and Angel Bryant that Jamal is coming to stay for the holidays. In response to this, they ask why.
Gizelle then says that he will be staying for about a week. And he’ll be staying at their house. When she asks if they are all cool with that, Grace says, “We have no choice.”
At this point, Gizelle questions if any of them would ever want to live in Atlanta. They all say no and they prefer living in Maryland. After Gizelle notices her daughters still aren’t thrilled about her being back with their father, she says, “Well, I want y’all to know I’m going to continue to spend time with your dad.”
Grace asks what control any of them have over that and Gizelle says, “You don’t have any control over it.”
In a green screen interview, Gizelle says, “My girls are so protective of me because they don’t want anyone to hurt me especially if they’ve hurt me in the past. And though I’m not super happy about where they are right now, I’ve gotta do nothing but be understanding about how they feel.”
