As the wedding nears, Cynthia ponders inviting her dad.
Cynthia and Mike discuss the fact that they invited 250 guests and 160 people have confirmed. Mike says he wants Dennis to come so Cynthia will have to talk to Porsha to make sure she’s okay with that. When it comes to Cynthia’s dad, she wants to invite him. He walked her down the aisle when she married Peter. But Cynthia hasn’t been on good terms with her dad since her mother did the domestic violence PSA for Kenya. Plus, she’s not sure if her mom would be okay with him being there.
Mike wants Cynthia to do what would make her happy, even if that’s inviting her dad.
Kandi moves forward legally.
After Ralph’s dad dies from a sudden heart attack, he and Drew go outside to release balloons in his honor.
Kandi has an upcoming event for her nonprofit organization, Kandi Cares. She’s going to sponsor (hopefully) 750 single-parent families in need. People will be able to buy groceries for them. Kandi is really passionate about helping single mothers. She talks to Eva’s husband Mike. He’s helping her secure unpaid child support from Riley’s father. In a green screen interview, Kandi says that she still wants what’s owed.
Porsha puts her foot down.
Cynthia and Porsha meet up for a drink and to talk. Porsha says that she doesn’t like the person she has become dealing with Dennis. They fought a lot after he cheated on her. And protesting has made her realize that she doesn’t want to settle anymore. She wants to fight for herself and her happiness.
Even though Mike wants Dennis to come to the wedding, Porsha says that she doesn’t want him there…for now.
Kenya has some opinions.
It’s the day of Kandi’s charity event. Kandi is happy to see that Porsha is actually early and she even donated $5000. When Kenya gets there, she’s not all that impressed to see Porsha there on time. In a green screen interview, she says Porsha is there for her photo op.
While the ladies are prepping the packages for the families, they discuss the fact that Mike wants Dennis at the wedding. Kenya says that it shouldn’t be a big deal if they are in a good place. And it’s hard to keep up with them because they go back and forth a lot. Kenya then says that she thinks the real issue is Porsha lacks self control and she’s afraid she will sleep with Dennis again.
In a green screen interview, Porsha says she wishes Kenya would mind her business.
Kandi throws some shade.
Marlo gets there late but she does donate $5000. In a green screen interview, Kenya says Marlo must have gotten an “extra” tip from a sugar daddy. In Kandi’s green screen interview, Kandi says some of the ladies aren’t all that generous but she won’t name any names. Drew isn’t coming because she’s moving but she did donate.
After the women finish having lunch, Kenya invites them to a getaway. They all agree to go to Charleston and have some time on the beach. Plus, they will be able to be safe during the pandemic.
Noelle advocates for Barbara.
Cynthia meets with Barbara, Noelle, and Mal to talk about the wedding. They discuss Cynthia and Mal’s father. After Mal says she still has a relationship with him, Barbara seems upset. It also comes up that Barbara didn’t know the domestic violence PSA she did for Kenya would be aired on TV. Back at home, people questioned if she told the truth about Cynthia’s dad. So that was hurtful.
Cynthia says she thought her mother knew what a PSA was, but she apologizes for the mixup. She then asks if it’s okay for her to invite her dad. Barbara says she doesn’t care but Noelle can sense differently. At this point, Noelle says that she barely talks to her grandfather. And since Barbara is around much more, they should not invite her grandfather. Cynthia hears Noelle loud and clear.
