Marsau walks a fine line between Kimmi and LaTisha.
The episode begins with Martell and Marcus having their heated exchange at Destiny’s Halloween voter drive. Martell walked away before things got physical and left the event with their kids.
Meanwhile, the rest of the cast talks about Wanda’s antics at Kimmi’s event. Kimmi’s adamant she didn’t sanction Wanda. Marsau, on the other hand, still claims Kimmi did do this. This leads to LaTisha and Kimmi debating over this while Marsau tries to straddle the fence.
But Kimmi says Wanda shouldn’t have shown up and caused an issue with Martell and Melody. LaTisha walks off with the kids while Marsau stays behind, still defending LaTisha.
Melody preserved her peace.
Meanwhile, Melody’s in the studio. She’s following her spirit and recording a song. Melody says singing was something she had a passion for since she had a kid. Interestingly enough, the lyrics of the song seemingly reflect her current divorce from Martell.
Melody invited Marcus to the studio to hear the song and hear about what happened at Destiny’s event. Marcus was surprised to not see Melody at the event but Melody felt like she was at her wit’s end. If she showed up, she would’ve had some drama. Marcus explains his side of the story, including how the kids told Marcus’ husband if he should be their daddy.
Melody says Martell should’ve wondered why the kids said that instead of threatening harm to Marcus. Next, Melody tells Marcus she’s finding many ways to cope with the divorce.
Marsau and Wanda talk about what occurred at Kimmi’s event.
At LaTisha and Marsau’s, Wanda’s babysitting her grandkids but Marsau managed to pull her away for a talk. Marsau wanted to talk about her antics at Kimmi’s event. Marsau didn’t agree with the antics. However, Wanda felt she had to get her feelings off her chest and didn’t know she was going to see the Holts again.
The two had a spirited discussion about what went down. Wanda says she was primed to knock out Martell for talking to her sideways. She also didn’t like how Kimmi acted towards her at the event. Marsau brings up to Wanda that she’s sanctioned and how everyone’s upset about it. Things get tense when Marsau tells Wanda her mouth caused this issue. Wanda disagrees and feels Marsau wants to treat her how he treats LaTisha.
In fact, at this point, Wanda says she’s only here for her grandkids.
The guys get ready for a camping trip.
Later that night, Martell meets up with Kimmi and Maurice while out shopping. The guys are going on a camping trip and Marsau will join them later. All of them are getting along well as Kimmi makes sure Maurice doesn’t go overboard with the camping gear.
While they’re talking, Martell brings up how this is the first time in a long time they can hang out together as men without tension between them. Kimmi brings up that Martell should’ve brought out the grievances about everything to the guys personally and not on social media. She then asks about what happened during Destiny’s event. Martell says there were certain things Marcus shouldn’t have said to him involving the kids.
Kimmi’s shocked to hear about Martell’s reaction to Marcus saying they wanted Troy to be “their daddy.”
Meanwhile, Marsau tells Maurice how Chris Fletcher wanted to bring him in on a project on the land that was originally used for the Comeback Group.
Finally, it’s time for the camping trip. Cedarric shows up first, followed by Maurice. Martell eventually shows up but Marsau isn’t there yet. The guys put together their equipment and continue to bond. Cedarric brings up how his parent’s divorce affected him and his siblings. He warns Martell that the kids may be acting out due to the divorce and the change between their parents. Martell doesn’t want their kids to feel like they’re the cause of the divorce.
The kids express their feelings about the divorce.
Meanwhile, Melody has the kids at a pumpkin patch. This is the first time the kids aren’t with both parents during this annual tradition. Despite this, Melody and the kids have a good time together.
Back at the campsite, the guys joke about Marsau being late for their camping trip. As night falls, they continue their time bonding. Maurice calls Marsau and learns Marsau was in a car accident. The car Marsau was driving took major damage as he was hit by someone. Luckily, he’s okay except for neck pain.
Back at the pumpkin patch, Iama joins them. Iama’s been helping Melody cope with the divorce. She’s also helping the kids cope as well. While at the patch, the kids bring up who they want to live with. Next, their son brings up how Martell acted out when Melody came by the house to get their clothes, not liking how he treated his mom. Melody then notices that their oldest child isn’t talking much so Melody will take time to make sure she’s okay.
Martell explains the pregnancy rumors.
As the guys sit around the fire, they talk about how they’re handling the pandemic. Maurice realizes that he was “wrong” for pushing Kimmi to retire from nursing. However, Martell doesn’t seem to be remorseful for his behavior, except for the infidelity. Martell still feels he was pushed to cheat because of Melody not being intimate the way he wanted her to.
Maurice asks if Melody has a change of heart, would the divorce still occur. Martell says he’d consider it as a way to keep the kids happy. In fact, Martell wishes he could go back and change his actions. Cedarric then brings up rumors of Martell’s mistress Arionne being pregnant. Martell says he found out Melody was cheating on him, resulting in Martell telling Melody Arionne’s pregnant.
He also says Melody then revealed the pregnancy news to the public via social media.
