Cecil wants Scott to consider therapy.
Eugene hangs out at Cecil’s home bar, the Boom Boom Room. Before Scott joins them, the two men discuss the fact that they are happy to see that Toya and Contessa are now in a much better place. When Scott gets there, he says that he’s happy to see that the two women have made so much progress.
When it comes to Scott and Contessa’s practice, Scott has interviewed an esthetician. He likes her for the business but he knows Contessa won’t have it because she’s very attractive. He shows off photos of the woman to Eugene and Cecil.
Scott still isn’t comfortable with going to therapy with Contessa, but Cecil urges him to reconsider. He says it’s made things so much better for him and Simone.
Self-love is something Anila wants for her daughter.
Anila goes to their new custom-built home and loves the progress she’s seeing. Even though it’s been a stressful time, she’s finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. While it’s now becoming a more peaceful situation, she is now concerned about her daughter’s self-esteem. Apparently, she told her nanny that she would feel pretty if she had blonde hair and blue eyes.
Jackie and Simone catch up. They are both happy to now be in a much better place and working on repairing their friendship.
After the march, Simone has decided that they should host a town hall meeting to urge everyone in the state of Georgia to vote. She mentioned her idea to Lisa Nicole and now Lisa has completely taken over. She’s been working on the event solo and this isn’t sitting well with Simone. Simone thought they would be partners, but Lisa is now treating her more like an assistant.
Jackie brings up the fact that Heavenly clashed with Lisa when they tried to do an event together years ago.
Heavenly’s son Zachary is making a lot of progress with his first investment property. The plan is for it to turn into a rental, so he’s already been trying his hand at decorating the place.
He thanks Heavenly for helping him and realizes that the family depends on her for a lot. This makes Heavenly a bit emotional.
Scott isn’t someone Contessa feels she can completely trust.
Contessa visits her life coach. She discusses her upbringing and she says it wasn’t easy growing up in her family. Her mother had breast cancer and her father struggled with drugs. So she wanted to be the easy child. When it comes to her marriage, she can’t say for sure that she trusts Scott with her heart. And that makes her sad.
In a green screen interview, Contessa says it’s hard to trust someone who told her he was almost done with her when she went back to school. At times, she thinks she married someone too much like her father. Contessa doesn’t feel Scott listens to her or that he’s emotionally available.
Her life coach tells her to give herself grace so she can receive it from Scott.
Anila talks with her daughter about accepting her own beauty. She explains that her skin color is beautiful and everyone doesn’t have white skin. People come in all shades and beauty isn’t just one type. In fact, she tells her daughter that Kiran’s cousin is an Indian woman and she won Miss America in 2014.
Simone speaks her mind.
It’s the day of the town hall event. Lisa has the event at her place. When Simone arrives, she tells Lisa about her frustrations. She makes it clear that she takes issue with the fact that Lisa took over the event. And she needs to learn how to be a team player. Lisa hears her out and the night continues.
Once all the ladies make it to Lisa’s house, Simone calls her out about taking over the event. Lisa admits she didn’t do things the best way. She then says she has a gift for Heavenly after she sent a text of a photo of Lisa riding a horse at Anila’s Holi event, and told everyone Lisa has a gut.
Heavenly isn’t interested in this gift and she insists on leaving because she knows it’s going to be shady.
Jackie and Toya clash.
After Heavenly goes outside, Lisa reveals that the gift was a scale and she was ready to show who has the better figure. Toya then takes this time to call out Jackie. She accuses Jackie of not calling out Heavenly when she is in the wrong. Jackie isn’t feeling this and says that she doesn’t have to think the way Toya does about things.
When Heavenly returns, Toya calls her Jackie’s pit. And she thinks Jackie uses Heavenly to speak for her. At this point, Jackie says that Toya’s anger is “unattractive.” Noticing that the tension is worsening, Jackie suggests that she and Toya go to the bathroom to talk privately.
In the bathroom, Toya says that the issue is she’s known Heavenly the longest. And it was Damon who gave Eugene his first job and she used to look up to Heavenly. But since joining the group, Heavenly has turned on her. And she comes for everything that Eugene has worked so hard for.
Jackie gathers that Heavenly has hurt Toya’s feelings and she can understand that. Toya is thankful that Jackie took the time to understand where she is coming from.
When Jackie and Toya return to the event, all the women agree that they will work together to get the people of Georgia to vote in the senate run-off election.
