Mia Thornton explains how she met her husband.
The women of “Real Housewives of Potomac” have a lot of questions about newbie Mia Thornton. She originally said that she met her husband while she was a bartender at a strip club. And some of the other ladies questioned if she was actually a stripper at the time.
On the upcoming episode, Mia opens up more about her time at the strip club and how she met her husband Gordon Thornton.
She tells the others, “Someone called him and said, ‘Hey, we got a new girl working here serving some really good drinks. I shortly, after serving drinks…yes, I did become a stripper. And that’s when I met him.” Karen Huger responds with, “I thought when you said, okay bartender, she was gonna say, ‘Okay I stripped too. I took to the pole.'”
And Mia says that she didn’t dance on a pole, “Well, honey, I don’t do a pole. So it’s a gentlemen’s club. It’s a five-star restaurant and they don’t have a pole because they don’t want that stigma. And the girls wear long gowns.” She continues, “Most of the time, my clients never wanted me to take my clothes off. They just really wanted to pay you for your time.”
Gizelle Bryant interjects, “That’s an escort.” And Mia says she didn’t do what a traditional escort does, “Yeah. But escorts have s*x for money. I don’t know anything about that.”
Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard doubt that Mia Thornton’s being honest.
In a green screen interview, Ashley Darby says, “I’ve been to strip clubs where they wear gowns and they’re not ballgowns, okay? They’re ones with like the c**chie out. Or like pasties on. Some money maker is definitely showing, cha-ching, cha-ching!”
And in her green screen interview, Candiace Dillard says, “You was stripping in that club. You did something for this old geezer to turn over and look at you and take you upstairs to the penthouse. Okay?”
Karen wants to refrain from being judgmental in her green screen interview, “Girl, ain’t no shame in it. Actually, I was thinking about getting a pole. I’m thinking a retractable one for your bedroom and invite Mia over and show me how to do it.”
