Candiace Dillard thinks colorism is behind the backlash she receives.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Ashley Darby‘s biggest feud to date is with Candiace Dillard. They clashed something serious after Ashley said she wanted to focus on getting pregnant. And her doctor told her it would be best to give up alcohol to achieve this. She would later indulge in having beers with the rest of the group. Candiace noticed and then came to the conclusion that Ashley wasn’t serious about having a baby. Ashley took this to heart since she had recently suffered a miscarriage. Things only got worse after Candiace questioned if Micheal Darby’s tears were real when he expressed sadness about Ashley’s miscarriage at Monique Samuels’ rainbow baby party.
When Candiace and Monique had a physical altercation, Ashley agreed to write a character statement to keep Monique out of jail. So it’s unlikely that Candiace and Ashley will ever be able to come back from that.
Interestingly enough, Candiace has stated that when it comes to viewers criticizing her actions, she believes she receives more criticism than Ashley. And this is due to colorism.
Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon strongly disagreed that there is a colorism issue. In fact, Gizelle said that she is the most hated person on the show and her complexion hasn’t spared her from backlash from viewers.
Some RHOP fans have also accused Gizelle, Robyn, and Ashley of being colorist. Ashley responded to this recently on social media, too.
