It’s the group’s last evening in Chesapeake.
Wendy has a company come over to the house and set up a crab boil for the evening as they watch the sun go down.
While they are eating, Karen tells everyone to open their invitations for her vow renewal outside when they get some time. This confuses everyone and they begin to wonder just what is in the invitations.
Eddie tells the group that his mother reached out to him recently. And he’s happy about this because they stopped talking after he married Wendy. So they are just going to take baby steps.
Ashley clashes with Mia and Gordon.
Gordon starts making sleeping jokes after calling out Ashley for sleeping on the bus. This leads to Ashley confronting him. Gordon says he doesn’t even remember what she’s referring to. Ashley gets irritated and questions if Gordon has amnesia or Alzheimer’s. At this point, Mia tells Ashley that it wasn’t cool for her to say this because she’s also married to an older man.
Ashley denies being ageist and says she would have said this to Mia too.
Gordon tells Ashley he’s sorry if she was offended but he isn’t sorry for what he said on the bus.
Mia continues to call Ashley out for her comments. She questions where Michael is and Ashley says he’s at home with their children. Mia then asks if she’s sure about this.
Ashley gets mad and questions if there’s something else Mia wants to discuss since she’s bringing up Michael. Gordon asks if Ashley needs a hug and Mia says Ashley needs a “big, black d*ck.”
Mia’s mother gets into it with Gordon.
The drama pauses after Wendy and Eddie wheel up a fake cake Karen pops out of to surprise Ray.
When everyone returns home, they open up their invitations from Karen. Butterflies fly out, and this catches the group off guard.
Gordon ends up getting into an argument with Mia’s mother over what to feed their children while they were out of town. She got upset and stopped taking Gordon’s calls. And there was a blowup when they saw each other. Mia doesn’t like this because it played out in front of their children. And it triggered her childhood trauma. So she feels like they are back at square one. And Gordon doesn’t want Mia’s mother to babysit the children anymore.
Gizelle’s daughters have an honest moment with her.
While shopping for plants with her daughters, Gizelle asks them if she should bring a date to Karen’s vow renewal ceremony. They tell her not to bring someone she’s not in a serious relationship with. And they don’t want her to die alone because it seems like she’s really lonely now. But Gizelle says she’s “casually dating” someone. But she doesn’t want to reveal who the man is when a producer asks.
Gizelle tells her daughters that she doesn’t want them to be as closed off as she can be in relationships when they start dating. Her oldest daughter, Grace, says that the issue is Gizelle and Jamal aren’t necessarily role models when it comes to relationships. And this is due to the fact that their children haven’t actually seen them in relationships.
They don’t even remember Gizelle and Jamal being married.
Gizelle says that she should have told Jamal how she felt about things when they were married. But she understands that her daughters feel like she can be too cold at times.
Michael and Ashley need to work on some things.
Ashley has a session with her psychologist.
She says Michael hasn’t been interested in being intimate lately. And she’s been having a hard time trying to even be s*xy again. Motherhood has just been her main focus. But she will try to challenge herself to get back to that place with Michael.
Wendy has a photoshoot with her mom and daughter for her home essentials line. They have some tension after her mother says she has no regrets about how she raised Wendy. She doesn’t think she was too demanding but Wendy disagrees.
Michael isn’t interested in being on good terms with Chris.
Ashley and Michael have a romantic stay at a fancy hotel Michael used to own. They are hoping to rekindle the romance in their marriage.
Ashley tells Michael that Chris wants them to be on better terms. But he’s not interested and says he’s more open to hanging out with Juan more. After they end the conversation, they have a passionate moment away from the cameras.
After the conversation with her daughters, Gizelle sees her therapist. She hasn’t seen him in a couple of years. They discuss the comments Gizelle’s daughters made about her relationship history. When it comes to men, Gizelle wants love but she doesn’t want to have to answer to anyone. But she’s willing to do whatever she needs to help her daughters navigate through love and relationships better than she did.
