Things change positively for Issa and Molly.
A year goes by to begin this episode. Both Issa and Molly have awakened and are starting their days. Issa’s IG page for her business The Blocc hit 10,000 followers. She was also able to turn this into a gig with a company investing in her named NBW. Molly has a new haircut and Issa has an assistant. They’re also back on good terms.
They’re even spending the night over each other’s home. Issa’s also back in touch with Nathan. In fact, Nathan’s shop is celebrating a 1 year anniversary and they hired Issa to help throw an event to celebrate. Issa and Nathan talk about the event over dinner and they catch up.
During the weekend, Molly’s with her family and she talks to her parents about their wills. Molly grills them about their estate planning and Molly’s mom tries to hook Molly up with a church friend named Herbert. Inside, Molly’s mom grills her about not being married. Meanwhile, Issa has a presentation for her client Crenshawn. She’s presenting Crenshawn’s artistry, fashion designs, and story to NBW, a prominent investor. They do have concerns about Crenshawn’s ideas and they may go with another artist.
Issa’s stressed.
Issa heads to Molly’s that evening to hang out and Issa tells her about her presentation. She’s worried that Crenshawn will not be picked. Meanwhile, Molly shows Issa pictures of Herbert, the guy her mom’s trying to hook up with. Issa isn’t impressed. The next day, Molly begins to feel like her standards were too high when it comes to dating. When she tries to answer a match on her dating app, she reflects on past relationships. And she realizes she made a lot of mistakes. At times, she was really difficult to be with.
Meanwhile, Issa tries to talk to Nadia from NBW about Crewhawn, however, Nadia brings in Seth who still wants to pull in another artist instead of Crenshawn. Issa does her best to convince them to go with Crenshawn. And she’s successful. Afterward, Issa goes to visit Crewnshawn with good news. NBW decided to go with Crenshawn’s performance. However, they want Crenshawn to cut parts of his presentation down and he begins to feel this isn’t the right fit. However, Issa persuades him to take the opportunity.
At home, Molly calls her mom and apologizes for being too harsh on her and her dad regarding their estate planning. She hangs up when her mom brings up Herbert.
Issa has a vulnerable moment with Nathan.
It’s the day of Crenshawn’s show and Issa’s setting up while Molly shows up to support. They don’t have too much time to catch up as Issa gets pulled into an interview during the event. Quoia, Issa’s assistant, had to cut the interview short because Crewnshawn decided to put things back into the show that NBW wanted to be cut out. This causes an argument between Crenshawn and Issa. Crenshawn calls Issa a sellout for siding with NBW.
The show gets going with the parts that were supposed to get cut. Luckily for Crenshawn, Issa’s boss Seth was impressed with the performance and tells Issa he wants to work with her on other projects. However, her relationship with Crenshawn may have soured. After the event, Issa texts Nathan to grab drinks. Meanwhile, Molly has a date with a new guy and she’s nervous.
Nathan comes over to Issa’s place. After a few drinks, they end up in bed. As they begin kissing, Issa starts crying. She tells Nathan she thought she was ready. He consoles her and she falls asleep in his arms. When she wakes up, he’s gone.
