Martell and Melody continue their latest argument.
The episode begins with Melody and Martell still arguing regarding Martell recording her on a date at their “favorite restaurant.” Martell took pictures and recorded a video of Melody and her date at the restaurant. Melody wants boundaries to be between them in light of the divorce. However, this leads to yelling and insults being exchanged. Martell calls the new man in Melody’s life ugly. And it’s clear that their co-parenting relationship isn’t improving.
Eventually, Melody leaves the job site with nothing being settled between them.
Kimmi spills more tea about Maurice and Kiuwha.
Meanwhile, Kimmi invited her friend Patricia over for drinks. They are really good friends and it’s been a while since the two hung out. While Patricia’s over, they talk about their kids. Kimmi tells Patricia about Maurice being old school and vents about the lack of their honeymoon. Maurice’s giving excuses regarding why they aren’t going on one.
It comes up how Patricia was accused of breaking the girl code between her and Kiuwha regarding staying friends after Kiuwha and Maurice’s split. It’s also revealed that Maurice filed for divorce from Kiuwha twice and moved away from Michigan to Florida even.
Kiuwha is accused of holding this disdain for Kimmi and Patricia even after she got remarried, even implying Kimmi was the side chick. However, Kimmi says she didn’t even know Maurice until well after he filed the second time. Patricia tells Kimmi she didn’t like how Kiuwha pushed this narrative on social media and on the show in earlier seasons. It also comes up that LaTisha didn’t have Kimmi’s back in the whole situation.
This leads Kimmi to tell Patricia about the rift between her and LaTisha regarding LaTisha’s beef with Melody. She also tells Kimmi about not responding to LaTisha’s group text regarding the Destiny 5K race and their latest disagreement. Kimmi was annoyed LaTisha didn’t call her regarding the donation.
Overall, Kimmi believes it was hard for LaTisha to come out and say she didn’t want her to be friends with Melody in light of their beef.
Marsau sets up a counseling session.
Speaking of LaTisha, Marsau sets up a surprise counseling session for them with Kiersten and Julien. They are financial counselors, and editors for a financial magazine and this surprises LaTisha. “Money counseling” wasn’t the kind of counseling she was expecting and feels this was “tit for tat” in response to their surprise therapy session with Dr. Francis.
They speak about their finances with the couple and LaTisha brings up how Marsau makes decisions without talking to her about it. Kiersten and Julien speak about how each of them is empowered in different areas of their marriage and they bring up how they are influenced by their childhoods. Later on, LaTisha shows Kiersten and Julien what she buys. And she explains why she buys it. Then LaTisha shows off Marsau’s cars. Overall, Kiersten and Julien tell the Scotts their main issue surrounds communication with one another.
For a breakthrough, LaTisha and Marsau agree to sit down to speak about a budget.
Melody gets messy at Destiny’s luncheon.
Later on, Destiny brought out the ladies to her luncheon where she will unveil items from her beauty and hair care line. Melody invited her friend Stormi to attend the event. Destiny even shouted out Kimmi, although Kimmi felt this could’ve been a little shady. Speaking of shade, Melody throws shade of her own in Destiny’s direction. Apparently, Destiny “forgot” to invite Stormi and forgot to send Melody a sponsorship form.
Despite this, Melody still wrote a check to Destiny for the event. LaTisha uses this moment to let them know she received the donation from Kimmi and Maurice. Next, LaTisha invites Tiffany to get champagne and Melody tells Kimmi and the others about her video premiere party hosted at Stormi’s mansion.
Meanwhile, LaTisha goes digging for bones regarding Tiffany, bringing up Tiffany’s past divorce. Tiffany obliges, letting LaTisha know she cheated on her ex-husband. She cheated on her ex-husband while in high school with him. But, she then says she wanted “more,” and wasn’t happy. LaTisha feels Tiffany wasn’t being fully transparent with her.
On a lighter note, Destiny presents Kimmi with a trip to use for a honeymoon. Lia Dias, the new owner of Hype Hair Magazine, appears to reveal Destiny’s cover.
Maurice shows growth.
The next day, Kimmi shows up to a bit of a surprise. Maurice planned a special private dinner for the two of them. He presents Kimmi with a white rose and takes her to their table. When they sit down, Maurice opens up, saying he’s working on making more time for her and their family.
During dinner, Maurice also tells Kimmi about what Dr. Francis said to him during their session and how he needs to disassociate from his thoughts about his career. Kimmi’s really appreciative of this. Lastly, she also presents Kimmi with a photo of a beach. It’s to signify that they’re going to finally take their honeymoon to a nice beach. This brings Kimmi to tears. Then, she hilariously tells Maurice about the trip Destiny gifted them.
