A cast shakeup took place on RHOA.
There have been some departures from “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” NeNe Leakes is gone. While fans were hoping she would eventually return to the show, NeNe made a lot of accusations. She claimed she was treated unfairly by those in power, and she also alleged that this is due to her being a black woman. NeNe has since slapped Bravo, Andy Cohen, and others with a lawsuit. So many believe she will never be on Bravo ever again.
Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams departed after season 13. For Cynthia, she thought it was time to hang it up because the producers wanted to demote her to a friend. As for Porsha, she left after she received a special that focused on her dwindling co-parenting relationship with Dennis McKinley, as well as her engagement to Simon Guobadia.
Some fans accused Porsha of not wanting to return because she didn’t want Kenya Moore and Marlo Hampton to call her out about being with Simon since he was married to Falynn Guobadia first. Falynn was a guest on the show during season 13 and Porsha was very friendly to her on the show.
With Cynthia, NeNe, and Porsha out; it was decided that Marlo would be given a peach. Kandi Burruss and Kenya are still on the cast. So is Drew Sidora and Sheree Whitfield has returned as well. Olympic Gold Medalist Sanya Richards-Ross is the newbie.
Ratings are a hot topic on social media.
On the season 14 premiere, drama ensued at Marlo’s fashion event because the other ladies were very critical. Kenya especially had a lot to say, and Marlo wasn’t feeling this. They exchanged some words and this may have been the beginning of the return of their feud.
Well, the premiere brought in 933,000 live viewers. It was the third most-watched program of the evening.
The season 13 premiere brought in 1.42 million live viewers.
Fans had a lot to say about the ratings on social media. Some feel this is a strong start and the numbers should pick up from here. Others believe this number is concerning.
Some theories about the numbers include news of NeNe’s lawsuit against Bravo could have turned some off from watching. Others believe the departures of fan favorites are hurting the show.
Interestingly enough, “Kandi & the Gang” ratings hit a series high at 642,000.
I’ll go ahead and say it. The beginning of the end was when Nene told her fans to boycott Bravo. Same with Mariah’s fans. RHOA and M2M will never have high ratings again because their fans really did stop watching.
Correct Anony. The decline took place after NeNe told her fans to stop supporting Bravo. It’s funny that she said her lawsuit is about black women when she doesn’t mind taking checks away from the black women on RHOA. She wants the whole show to fail now because she’s not on it and her fans can’t see how problematic she actually is.
I enjoyed this premiere a lot. But the trend for RHOA has been lower with each new season. And the spinoffs are struggling as well. A lot of people have just moved on.
Meh, by the time they add the DVR ratings and YouTube/streaming viewers, they got over one million.
I thought the premiere was great! And can we speak on how fabulous Kandi looked. I think her best season of looks yet. She was fresh faced, glowing, and put many to shame with her outfits especially for marlo’s event. Such elegance. I’m just one person though, but I have seen people say the reasons on why the ratings were not up to par, many felt there were too many leaks especially from vloggers . It made the premiere underwhelming since most knew what was already happening. ????????♀️ I think in time it may come up, but allot of people also feel what Nene is going is also wrong. The fact they had to reshoot their pictures, out of pocket, just solidified Nene’s point. Also, many are pointing out the differences that the ATL women have on cast trips and other activities compared to their counterparts also supports Nene’s point. I mean Stratton from RHOBH took all the women, except Garcelle, to exclusive luxury private stores and said that she didn’t feel garcelle shopped in those places, or had the income. Excuse you lol, if that ain’t a blatant issues of assumption of black women, but I digress. Anyway I like the premiere, but Bravo and others can’t glance over the fact that Mariah and Nene has truth in their complaints. They really need to fix casting across the board. Casting should now be of one color or race but should reflect the demographic of the market/population.
Bravo won’t be able to get ahead of the racism accusations until they work things out with NeNe. Ratings will get worse from here.
BYE FELICIA!!
Ratings are plummeting on the opening night??
REALLY??
I stopped watching back when Nene left. I wouldn’t say I was a fan. I just didn’t like how Black women were being portrayed fussing & fighting all of the time.
It’s the Nene effect. This show was done the moment she told her fans to boycott. People underestimated how many fans she has. And now that she’s never going to be invited back because of the lawsuit, ratings will continue to flop hard.
