Howard received good news after being shot by Kanan.
Detective Howard told doctors that he doesn’t remember what happened on the night he was shot. The good news is doctors were able to find someone to donate bone marrow. So Howard’s cancer is officially in remission. And both of his lungs are intact. So he’s being looked at as a medical miracle. His partner Burke really wants to find the person who is responsible.
Kanan and Raq are preparing to return to New York after Kanan spent time at Virginia Beach with his aunt and cousins. Raq believed it would be the safest place to be as things cooled off.
Lou and Jessica have been clashing over Famous’ career. At this point, Famous isn’t even taking his music seriously. All he wants to do as of late is get high. So Lou signs another artist, Zisa, to focus on.
Marvin finds out that Toni has left town. So there isn’t really a case against him. He’ll just have to take anger management.
Raq’s plans worked out.
Despite the issues with Howard and Unique, Raq scored a major win with her plan. Their organization is fully up and running in the projects. They even have people on top of the buildings to make sure that police don’t shut them down. Since they moved on from the corners, Raq’s crew is the only one that survived the police’s sweep of the streets.
To keep things afloat, Raq paid off some of the people in the building to keep their mouths shut. The supers and housing cops were also paid for their silence. They are making about $27 million a year.
Jukebox and Marvin’s relationship is practically nonexistent after their major blowup over Nicole’s death. Marvin wants to fix it but Jukebox wants nothing to do with him.
Now that the police realize Unique didn’t shoot Howard, he’ll be released from prison soon. And Raq wants to make peace with him and Worrell. However, she wants their men to work for her. And she’ll accomplish this by buying more buildings.
Turns out Howard didn’t lose his memory.
New problems arise when Scrap is arrested in the middle of gambling at his mom’s house. This will put more eyes on Raq and her crew.
Symphony meets up with Kanan and Raq for a bite to eat. He is thanked for driving Kanan to Virginia. But it seems as if he’ll be seeing a lot less of Raq and Kanan after everything that happened. When alone, Symphony warns Raq that Kanan was terrified by whatever happened. And while Raq doesn’t have to reveal what happened, he just wants her to protect Kanan.
Raq ends up having a conversation with Kanan about his fears. He doesn’t believe he’s cut out for the family business. Raq tells him she’s at fault. And she should have done a better job protecting him.
As her romance with Lou crumbles, it’s revealed that Jessica is sleeping with Crown. And he got her a job in California managing artists.
When Unique walks out of prison, Marvin watches from a distance in his car. Meanwhile, Raq is preparing to meet with Howard.
