Diana and Dru believe they have the future figured out.

Tariq and Brayden sell their cars to one of Pinky’s contacts for quick cash. The plan is still to get back into the drug game. While they are figuring out the best way forward, Monet is still trying to find out who is responsible for her gunshot wound. And she keeps coming up short.

Cane and Effie are still hooking up. They have a touching moment after Effie admits to missing an interview for a graduate program to help Cane talk the Russians into working with Noma. Speaking of Noma, Dru wants to become her second in command. He refuses to work under Cane because he believes he’s superior. As for Diana, she thinks she can persuade Noma to let her exit the drug business. Dru believes she’s delusional to think she can leave with her life.

Tariq meets with Maclean to see if any of his other clients could be a connect. Maclean knows the perfect person but Tariq has to give him twenty percent of the profits. When they meet with Xion, he says he knew Ghost. And he’s not giving Tariq product because he’s not sharp like his deceased father.

Obi is discarded.

Monet is upset that Noma texted her not to come to work. She’s been off her game since getting shot. It’s starting to feel like Monet is being pushed out.

Obi is taken in for questioning by Carter but not officially arrested. He requests to call his lawyer after Carter lies about having photos of him speaking to Tariq. He contacts Dru to pick him up. Obi’s brother slips up and tells Dru that Noma’s company got him and his family green cards.

Regardless, Carter has no evidence on Obi. And since Carter doesn’t know about Noma, Obi convinces Dru not to tell her about his run-in with Carter.

Dru and Cane then tell Noma that Obi got green cards from Tariq and Tate. Noma concludes Obi made it up to Tariq by giving Brayden a heads-up about Tariq being executed and ultimately saving his life.

Noma stabs Obi in his throat and thanks him for his service.

Dru and Diana are exposed.

Tariq successfully takes out Xion’s main dealer Roman by planting his product on Stansfield. After Tariq informs Effie about Roman, Cane destroys Roman’s drop and Carter arrests him.

Cane later tells Effie that he did some digging and learned Roman never sold drugs on campus. After he accuses Effie of setting him up with Tariq, she denies it. And she calls out Cane for hooking up with Noma. Cane’s budding romance with Noma is the reason why he’s able to convince her to let him be her new right-hand man.

Tariq puts Maclean up to meet Noma to offer his services to keep her from discovering that he and Brayden are getting back in the game. She seemingly falls for it.

Pinky texts Monet and Tariq a photo of Diana in a wig outside Kate’s house. Monet quickly concludes Diana and Dru set her up to be killed.

Dru and Diana are able to get away before Monet and Cane can retaliate.

  1. I had some time to think and I hate the pregnancy storyline. It’s cheap and lazy writing imo. I’m still enjoying the season though. Team Tariq always.
