‘Power: Book 2’ Recap: Tariq Learns Diana is Pregnant

Tariq confirms Monet’s suspicions.

Tariq meets up with Monet and Cane. He confirms it was Dru and Diana who set her up to be killed. And he believes they should be taken out as a result. Cane agrees.

Cane and Monet find Dru and Diana at a nearby motel, but the siblings escape. Despite the heightened emotions, Monet plays it cool when Carter stops by the house to question them.

Things are going according to Tariq’s plan when Noma asks Maclean to help her build political connections to help legitimize her other business.

Cane pulls a gun out on Dru when he pops up at one of his stash locations he forgot he told Cane about. Dru survives after some tussling takes place.

Diana apologizes.

With Monet and Cane on their backs, Diana has Dru drop her off at Salim’s place. She apologizes for threatening him. He accepts her apology and gives her the key to his parents’ vacation home. Salim believes this will be the safest hiding place. Tariq later shoots and kills him during a struggle.

Monet feels depressed now that she knows that Dru and Diana have set her up. Regardless of how great the betrayal was, she still remembers Dru got his first kill protecting her as a kid.

Cane once again runs up on Dru at one of their stash spots. When he FaceTimes Monet for instructions, she tells him not to kill Dru. Cane beats Dru up badly and fires him and Diana from Noma’s operation.

Diana reveals her pregnancy.

Tariq is seconds away from killing Diana, but Monet intervenes and reveals Diana’s pregnancy. Monet tells Tariq that he’s the father and she’s just trying to protect her grandchild. She suggests everyone forgive and forget for the child’s sake. Tariq runs off.

Diana is emotional while hugging Monet. She apologizes for everything.

Tariq checks out the setup Brayden created at his campus job, which makes it hard to detect their drug business through t-shirt merchandise. He’s impressed by how well thought out it looks. When he spots Noma’s daughter Anya enjoying the music at the student hideout at Brayden’s job, he strikes up a conversation.
