Eddie’s side of the family is brought up. Wendy is planning an all-white birthday celebration. Eddie’s siblings said they would attend. However, his parents will likely not come. Regardless, Eddie is thankful that his siblings will be there. This will be the first time he’s seen them in a long time since Wendy and Eddie’s families do not have much of a relationship. Eddie’s parents never approved of the marriage. They haven’t even met their grandchildren.
Gizelle and Keiarna confront Mia.
Ashley’s mother Sheila visits her and the children. Sheila has been suffering from health issues like heart disease. So Ashley is focused on helping her mother adopt a healthier diet and lifestyle. They discuss the status of Ashley’s divorce. Her lawyer told her that the papers could be signed in a month. Sheila is proud of Ashley. Ashley admits to producers she was afraid to take the final step because the idea of being a single mother without Michael’s financial support was intimidating. But the whole ordeal has made Ashley more appreciative of Sheila. Both women encourage each other to move on to healthier romantic relationships.
At Jassi and Darius’ Super Bowl celebration, Keiarna and Gizelle talk to Mia about the drug dealer accusations. Both point out that it is damaging for Mia to suggest that Keiarna’s current boo Gregory sells drugs when he’s actually a social worker. Mia apologizes and clarifies that she knows he is a social worker and he “looks like one.” She was referring to one of Keiarna’s exes.
Karen and Mia put their feud on pause…for now.
Later on, Mia attempts to confront Karen about telling the others she overdosed and had an opioid addiction. After Gizelle pulls both aside to put it all on the table, Karen says she only went there because she feels Mia keeps coming for her legal situation. Mia tells producers that she overdosed from the medication she was put on to recover from a c-section.
Mia claims she isn’t trying to be malicious. Karen can admit they were both wrong but she’ll go low again if Mia doesn’t back off. And Mia responds she’ll go lower.
Gordon wants nothing to do with Inc. and Mia’s relationship.
Karen meets with her cousin David. He’s worried about her and was on the phone with her when Karen crashed her car. She apologizes to him. Mia and Inc. attempt to converse with Gordon in front of the cameras. Gordon says he told Mia he would not film with Inc. He has no desire to “enrich” or “promote” Mia and Inc’s relationship. When Mia tells Gordon that they all need to get along for the children, Gordon says he doesn’t owe Inc. anything. Gordon questions if Mia and Inc. were messing around while he and Mia were married, but neither answers the question. Inc. confirms he believes Mia and Gordon’s son Jeremiah is his biological child and Gordon thinks this belief is nonsense. Gordon ends his conversation with Inc. and Mia. Mia goes on to tell Inc. that she’s not in her 20s anymore and deserves happiness.
