On the latest episode of “Married to Medicine,” Contessa and Heavenly refuse to address the elephant in the room. Plus, Toya puts pressure on Phaedra to become an open book. Here are the highlights for, “Flannels and Fake Apologies.”
Toya puts Phaedra in the hot seat.
The girls’ trip starts awkwardly. Toya confronts Phaedra about not being open enough with her and the rest of the ladies. Toya feels like everyone is an open book, except Phaedra. So, she asks Phaedra what makes her tick. Phaedra thinks Toya is being ridiculous, and she has time to think about things like this because she doesn’t work a full-time job. Heavenly expresses that Toya made fair points during her green screen interview. They don’t know much about Phaedra. Meanwhile, Contessa thinks everyone struggles to have difficult conversations in the group so singling out Phaedra wasn’t necessary.
The tension worsens between Heavenly and Sweet Tea.
Things only become messier when Sweet Tea and Heavenly address their issues. Sweet Tea says Heavenly crossed the line by dragging her about the struggles she’s been facing to become a mother and making malicious comments about Gregory. Heavenly apologizes and questions if Sweet Tea is willing to apologize for what she said about Damon. Heavenly stresses Damon doesn’t cheat. She then says Gregory is the cheater. This leads to more back and forth between Heavenly and Sweet Tea. Phaedra notes that the group struggles to let the past go and move forward. And she doesn’t understand this.
Contessa and Heavenly aren’t ready to move forward.
Quad tries to push Contessa and Heavenly to hash things out. Contessa and Heavenly aren’t feeling this. Before walking away, Contessa reminds Quad that she will talk to Heavenly when she’s ready. And when that time comes, it won’t be in front of an audience.
Heavenly, Quad, and Phaedra stay behind to discuss the drama in front of the bonfire. Quad knows Heavenly still loves Contessa deep down inside. Quad isn’t fooled by Heavenly’s nonchalant demeanor. She pushes Heavenly to realize that she’s acting tough but should fight to save the friendship that once meant a lot to her.
Later on, Heavenly confides in Jackie about her status with Contessa. She’s not sure she wants to salvage a friendship she thinks may have been one-sided. Jackie tells Heavenly she’s not being fair. Contessa supported Heavenly during dark times, including when Heavenly’s mother passed away.
The episode concludes with Toya checking everyone’s outfits before they head to a photo shoot that will be “Cowboy Carter” inspired.
