The friend role on RHOA is where Marlo Hampton feels the most comfortable.
Marlo Hampton celebrated getting her peach ahead of her last season on “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” However, her time as a peach holder was not well received by the majority of the fans. Some became frustrated with her actions as she clashed with Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss. So when it was confirmed Marlo would not be a part of the Season 16 cast, her critics were not surprised. Instead, producers decided to bring back Porsha Williams and eventually Phaedra Parks. Phaedra came in after Kenya departed the season. As we reported, Kenya’s feud with newbie Brittany Eady became intense. Kenya decided to exit once she felt like production didn’t support her enough.
Kenya isn’t the only one who made time to reflect on her time on RHOA. Recently, Marlo did an interview with the Across Generations Podcast and she said she actually wasn’t happy about holding a peach.
“After 8 years, I finally got my peach. The world was happy. To fans of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ that was a big deal. To be honest with you, I was not happy about it. I loved being a friend. The show was in a bad place and don’t think I can just come and save the show. I came on with the originals. It was a different kind of show. A different time and age,” Marlo said.
She went on to say that the show became dark and the women no longer had any respect for each other.
When it comes to the possibility of ever returning to RHOA, Marlo said she would only come back in a friend role.
“If I go back, I want to go back as a friend,” she said.
Marlo is okay with not having a peach as long as the money is right.
“I would want the money. I want the money. But I’m…I’m not big on a title. I’m just…I’m not. And I don’t know if that’s ’cause of my upbringing. I’m big on getting a job done and being the best at my job and getting paid.”
She continued, “The title could be a janitor. Long as I’m getting paid the money that I want and what I need. I’m okay with it.”
Marlo shares that she’d prefer to come back to #RHOA as an official friend instead of a peach holder.
