On the latest episode of “Basketball Wives,” Jackie checks Evelyn and the others about meddling in her relationship with her daughter Chantel. Here are the highlights for “Poppin’ Off.”

Brandi thinks Evelyn is playing a dangerous game with Jackie.

Jackie meets with her team to talk about trying some new things for her upcoming talk show. She wants to add a speed dating segment, so she will host an event to test the waters. Ty was the first person in the group she invited. With a lot of the other ladies having issues with Jackie currently, she’s not sure how this is going to go.

Brandi talks to her assistant Jacob about how the LA fires affected her. She went back home to Texas and, surprisingly, has been getting along well with Jason. Brandi recognizes that tragic situations can sometimes bring people back together and make them look at things differently. Her assistant playfully encourages Brandi to “get her man back,” and she laughs.

When it comes to the group currently, Brandi feels like Evelyn has been the ringleader in her being ganged up on. She’s over Evelyn at this point.

She thinks it was foul for Evelyn to suggest that Chantel cut Jackie out of her life. Brandi thinks Evelyn is going to cause Jackie to snap if she doesn’t back off.

Jackie has a bone.

Evelyn meets Brittany and Ming Lee at a restaurant. They discuss Jackie and her upcoming speed dating event for her talk show. Brittany has no plans to attend. Ming and Evelyn will go, but Evelyn only wants to go so she can talk to Jackie about Chantel.

They switch topics and discuss Ming and Ty’s weird status. Ming lied to Ty about having a boyfriend because she figures Ty won’t move on any other way. In a green screen interview, Evelyn says she now realizes that Ming and Ty are toxic to each other.

Jennifer links up with Ty and Jackie to catch up. They discuss Ming lying about having a boyfriend to force Ty to move on. Ty thinks this was ridiculous. She isn’t pressed to be with Ming enough for that kind of dishonesty to be warranted.

Evelyn’s recent charity event for the LA wildfires is brought up, as well as Jackie’s early departure. Jackie says she has a bone she will bring light to if necessary. But she’s trying to be cool.

Jackie hosts her speed dating event. Evelyn, Ty, Ming, and Denise show up. Denise makes it clear to anyone who will listen that she didn’t come to support Jackie, only to sabotage and be a spy for Chantel.

After the speed dating concludes, Evelyn and the others talk. Evelyn confirms she wasn’t invited to Brandi’s upcoming event for her seasoning line. They clashed recently, so Evelyn wasn’t surprised she didn’t score an invite. Evelyn also confirms she still isn’t in a good place with Jackie. But she still wants to talk to her about Chantel.

Evelyn confronts Jackie.

Ty says Jackie said she had a bone about Shaniece, but she hasn’t been messy because she has love for Evelyn’s daughter. Evelyn’s ears perk up at this, and Ty realizes it’s a good time for her to head back home when Jackie checks on them.

Evelyn immediately asks Jackie if she talked about Shaniece. Jackie says she said she had a bone, but it has nothing to do with Shaniece. But Brandi told her Evelyn was talking about her situation with Chantel, and Evelyn needs to stop discussing her family.

Evelyn claims she’s only involving herself because Chantel is hurt. Jackie’s response is that this can also be said about Shaniece before walking off.

Jackie clashes with Ming.

Brandi hosts her event to promote her new seasonings. Before Jackie shows up, Chantel FaceTimes Brandi, saying she won’t be there because she doesn’t want to be around Jackie. Jackie wouldn’t allow Evelyn to hold her accountable recently.

When Denise arrives, she speaks to everyone but Jackie. Jackie notices and says Denise needs to find someone else to play with. While everyone is eating, Brandi and the others bring up Chantel’s lack of attendance. Denise then asks Jackie if she’s been unblocked. Jackie tells Denise to chill because she will play the victim once she gets the reaction she’s owed.

Ming tries to equate Jackie’s interest in her and Ty reconciling to Evelyn and the others meddling in Chantel and Jackie’s relationship. Jackie isn’t going for this. She reminds Ming that she never crossed any boundaries, and her boundaries regarding her family should also be respected.

Jennifer mentions that it’s okay to care about Chantel, but people have to be respectful. They aren’t being respectful by involving themselves into a relationship they have nothing to do with.

Ming tries to argue that they can interject themselves in Chantel and Jackie’s relationship since Chantel brings things up to them. But Jackie makes it clear that they have no choice but to respect her boundaries. She doesn’t have to talk to them about Chantel. The only person she owes a conversation to is her daughter.

What are your thoughts on the episode?

  1. They need to stay out of Jackie’s family business and film what is going on in their own lives.

  2. Ty is the only newbie who actually fits in and brings substance. Ming and Denise are boring followers. Brittany should have never been asked back. Chantel is insufferable. I want them all gone. Evelyn too.

  3. Chantel needs her a-s beat. She’s a spoiled entitled brat trying to convince us Jackie was a deadbeat. I want her goofy a-s off this show. Even her face annoys me now.

  4. This show is so boring. Why have women on here who can’t add positivity to the show? Storyline is a waste of time. It makes no sense

  5. Chantel needs to call Iyanla or an actual therapist because Basketball Wives is not the appropriate environment to discuss your childhood trauma. None of those women care about her like that. They use her bc they don’t like Jackie.
