On the latest episode of “Basketball Wives,” the cast heads to Hawaii. Chantel attempts to call out Jackie in front of the group, but Brandi points out the issues with how she’s going about it. This leads to Brandi clashing with Brittany and Chantel. Here are the highlights for “The New Queen Has Arrived.”
Denise and Chantel question Evelyn’s motives.
Ming Lee recaps what went down during Brandi’s launch event for her new seasonings to Chantel and Denise. She confirms that things got a little tense between her and Jackie when Chantel was being discussed. But luckily, Jackie didn’t try to fight her. In response, Chantel says Jackie “knows who to play.”
They move on to Evelyn. Denise isn’t really feeling Evelyn at the moment. She believes Evelyn tried to call her recently for some dirt on Chantel. She suspects Evelyn wanted a bone about Chantel just in case Jackie has a bone about Shaniece. Since Evelyn never reached out to Chantel with these questions, Chantel and Denise think she’s being messy. And Chantel questions if Evelyn really wanted to genuinely get to know her or just use her.

Ty and Evelyn grab a bite to eat. Evelyn is surprised to hear from Ty that Denise has been questioning her motives. During a green screen interview, Evelyn says she has genuine concern for Chantel.

Chantel, Brittany, and Denise plan to call out people in Hawaii.
Ming checks in with Jackie. Jackie apologizes for the tension they had at Brandi’s event. She just wants everyone to stay out of her family’s business and not involve themselves in her relationship with Chantel. As far as Evelyn is concerned, Jackie has no plans to drag Shaniece into their issues. But if Evelyn speaks on Chantel, she will speak on Shaniece.
Ming confirms she has planned a group trip to Hawaii. Despite all of the ongoing drama, Jackie will be in attendance.

Chantel updates Denise and Brittany about her custody battle with her ex. The judge ruled, and she can now fully relocate to LA from Arizona. She’s looking forward to the trip to Hawaii because she wants to confront Jackie. Brittany and Denise are on the same page and think Brandi needs to be called out as well.

Evelyn apologizes to Brandi.
Ming continues to make her rounds and invite all the ladies to Hawaii. Brandi and Jennifer are surprised to find out that Denise is questioning Evelyn’s intentions. While Brandi isn’t on the best of terms with Evelyn, she has issues with how Denise moves. It seems like Denise makes it a point to have an issue with whoever Brittany and Chantel don’t like. And it’s annoying to witness her keep interjecting herself into matters that don’t concern her.

When most of the cast makes it to Hawaii, Ming encourages Evelyn and Brandi to hash things out. Evelyn apologizes to Brandi for their last exchange. She realizes Brandi had good intentions when she planned the Vegas trip. Although Brandi accepts Evelyn’s apology, she isn’t convinced they won’t fall out again.

Jackie refuses to go there with Chantel.
The ladies get together for dinner on their first night in Hawaii. Chantel beelines to Jackie and asks her if it’s true that she told the others Chantel is “impressionable” or “easily manipulated.” Denise told her she overheard Jackie saying this. Producers flash back to the scene, and Jackie did not say this.
Chantel then tells Brandi that Jackie doesn’t really like her and talks behind her back. Jackie refuses to entertain any of this and tells the group she’s leaving.
Brandi follows Jackie while Chantel continues to be critical of her mother in front of the others.
During a green screen interview, Brandi says Chantel is going about things with Jackie the wrong way. Jackie departs.

Brandi stands on business.
When Brandi returns, she asks Chantel what she wants at this point. Chantel says she wants Jackie to admit to calling her impressionable. Brandi then goes on to ask who told Chantel that Jackie said this, and she answers Denise.
Brandi tells Denise it’s not a good idea to involve herself in someone’s family issues. Brittany and Denise disagree and insist they have a right to be involved because they are friends with Chantel.
Brittany also blames Brandi for Chantel and Jackie’s tension because it was her telling Chantel to stay in a child’s place that resulted in their fallout. Brittany starts screaming at Brandi about how she won’t understand because she doesn’t have a toxic mother.
Chantel once again tells Brandi that Jackie doesn’t really like her. Brandi doesn’t care. She says how Jackie feels about her doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t like how things are playing out between Jackie and Chantel.

Brandi was the goat in this episode. I’m so glad Jackie isn’t giving her delusional and bratty daughter the energy she wants so badly. Chantel, Denise, and Brittany don’t fit this show. They are too immature to be in their 30s. I don’t enjoy any of their scenes.
Agreed 💯. Clearly, their family issues are historical and run deep; issues cannot be solved here in these episodes and really, none of our business. Chantel flying over to expose her mother every 5 seconds in public makes no sense and it seems joining the show isn’t working out. We”ll see for the season. Brittany appears too emotional and incapable of having a normal toned conversation; it’s annoying. Denise, what is your story? Please change it up and remove the new trio, who seem to really want to bust up the show. Ming and Ty are nice casting and vibe with the OG’s.
I want Chantel to go away and take Brittany and Denise with her. They act like little girls. Very annoying and childish.
This was the one episode I can agree with Brandie… Chantel is really childish and her behavior proves she is no different from Jackie, the same one she is saying has no accountability, lies, etc. Chantel I don’t believe ur cry for help It’s disgusting to watch a child air out personal family business on national TV alongside some bandwagon broads… Therapy would be a better environment for her issues with Jackie
It seems like Chantal and Jackie has had a not so good relationship for quite sometime. Chantal is not acting this way for nothing. She’s hurt and is feeling some type of way. Maybe Jackie makes a difference with her children. It’s some underlying issues believe me.
Brittany needs to take several seats. Her mother is probably no more toxic than she is. I dont know why she feels like she needs to insert herself in Jackie and Chantel’s family drama. She should have stop wearing that hijab sooner than she did. She is a disgrace. Same thing for Denise. They both are working overtime to be relevant from somebody else’s storyline. The show was already bad enough, Shaunie made it worse for signing these three on. Brittany, Denise and Chantel are all still too childish and immature. They act like highschool brats. Git gone, please!

None of these women have a degree in psychiatry, psychology, or family therapy. Why do Chantel feel the need to disrespect her mother, or discuss her grievances with her mother in front of these women? I applaud Jackie for walking away. She agreed to speak with Evelyn in private, but not award her mother the same grace. Go talk to a professional. Hurt people hurt people. She doesn’t need to be on a show, she needs a couch in a therapists office. Get off your mother’s show. She is out to destroy her mother, and it is sad. It is time for Mr. Christie to intervene. The ones who are encouraging this behavior, are the same ones who would never disrespect their mother pubicly on a T.V. show. All money ain’t good money.
