Tami Roman’s appearance on Kandi Burruss’ YouTube channel has people talking on social media.

Former “Basketball Wives” star Tami Roman is a hot topic on social media due to comments she made recently on Kandi Burruss‘ YouTube channel. Kandi invited Tami and her daughter, 29-year-old Jazz Anderson, to chat with her and Riley Burruss. When Kandi mentioned that she didn’t like Riley’s previous boyfriend but really likes her current one, Jazz made a very interesting revelation.

She said, “And you know what I love about this, right? Since it’s Pride Month, I have to say this. How you guys…she’s met your guys and she can make a good judgment off of it. I’ve never had that moment with you.”

After Kandi asked what Jazz meant, she said Tami refuses to meet her girlfriend.

“‘Cause she doesn’t want to meet the women that I bring around…’cause the situation that I’m in now, how you can judge it better, this person has a great, a very positive impact on my life. She got me back in church. There are certain things where I’m like, I need this person even if we’re just friends. And I often feel like I can never share that with her because she hasn’t fully accepted…she’s accepted in the sense that I know she likes women, too. And that’s fine. She doesn’t give me a hassle about that. But I loved the moment that you guys just shared where you were like,’ Yeah, he’s cool.’ Like you could really say that, you can’t say that (looks at Tami).”

Kandi was shocked to learn this about Tami.

“So wait a minute. You’re not comfortable with it, yet?”

Jazz went on to explain that her girlfriend won’t be able to attend her upcoming graduation because Tami will be there.

“She can’t be in attendance,” Tami said.

Tami Roman continued with the excuses.

The situation doesn’t make sense to Jazz.

“She can’t be there. Do you get what I’m saying? My girlfriend can’t be there.”

Tami went on to defend her actions by saying she’s 55 years old and ain’t changing. But Kandi had no problem telling her she was wrong and questioning if Tami’s other daughter, Lyric Anderson, could bring boyfriends around.

“Tami, that’s wrong. Why can’t she be there? With your other daughter, she’s straight, right? In the past, she’s not allowed to bring her boyfriends around?”

Tami answered, “She would be.”

Kandi then responded, “And why? What’s the difference? How is that fair?”

Tami replied, “Because there’s something called confirmation bias. When people think like you think or appear to be how you are, you’re more drawn to those types of people. My daughter is a heterosexual female. Confirmation bias allows me to accept whatever situation she’s presenting, versus not really understanding in this moment, so I gotta take a step back to figure out how that works for me, so I can be comfortable in that moment because there’s something called mental health that we have to be concerned about. I gotta be concerned about mine, even though I walk with her and love her, I still gotta go with what’s right for me as well.”

Kandi reminded Tami that Jazz’s graduation isn’t about her.

“Okay, but you’re not graduating. She is. It’s not about your life, it’s about her life,” said Kandi.

Tami insisted that the issue is that Jazz’s relationships don’t work out, and she wastes time getting to know someone who won’t be around. In response, Kandi said that it shouldn’t matter because Tami has had to get to know her other daughter’s ex-boyfriends. It’s no different, so the excuse didn’t make sense.

Regardless, Tami said she had to see Jazz be with someone for a longer period of time, so the girlfriend won’t be invited to Thanksgiving dinner either. Jazz being with someone for 8 months to a year isn’t long enough.

Kandi pointed out that Tami continued to come up with reasons why she doesn’t want to meet Jazz’s girlfriend. But Tami didn’t back down. She said she would meet the woman after she felt the relationship was “lasting” and both “knew how to be in a committed relationship.”

Jazz questioned how Tami could be qualified to determine any of this when she doesn’t even want to be around the relationship. Tami said she would need to see them last at least two years to meet her.

When Jazz rebutted that Tami would miss out on two years of special moments between them, Tami said she didn’t care and smoked from her vape. Jazz said this puts her in a position to pick and choose between them, and Tami replied that she is “picking every day.” Jazz then disagreed and said Tami didn’t do that when she got married to Reggie Youngblood without her or Lyric being there.

  1. I’m sorry, but Tami is wrong. If she’s meeting one daughters boyfriend and it doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together and won’t meet the other daughters girlfriend because she doesn’t think they’ll last is just wrong and it’s a double standard. You’re supposed to to love both the same and the rules goes for they’re relationships. You’re supporting your daughter in whatever her choices are and not what’s good for you.

  2. She doesn’t see humanity in gay people. Racists talk like this about black people. Some black folks are so disappointing.
