In the latest episode of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” Angel is put in the hot seat after the group travels to Nevis Island. Plus, Stacey is accused of wanting to hook up with Chris Samuels. Here are the highlights for “Tropic Like It’s Hot.”
Tia embarrasses Ashley.
The episode begins with the continuation of the group’s time at the Preakness Stakes.
Ashley confronts Tia about calling her rude behind her back. Tia explains she actually said it was rude of Ashley to invite Wendy and Gizelle to hang out in front of the others. She feels like the proper way to have done that was to make sure she didn’t invite Gizelle and Wendy to hang out in front of people she didn’t plan to invite. And usage of the word rude there was her being “tongue in cheek.”
When Keiarna asks what tongue-in-cheek means, Tia says it means what one is saying isn’t serious or deep. It just rolled off one’s tongue. Keiarna suggests chin check is tongue in cheek, but Tia tells her that the saying is too aggressive to be considered tongue in cheek. In response, Ashley says she feels like Tia shaded her.
Tia tells Ashley tongue in cheek is not shade, and she needs to keep up. Ashley mocks Tia’s British accent and still feels Tia shaded her. Over it at this point, Tia tells Ashley she doesn’t understand why she is struggling to understand what tongue-in-cheek means. But she’s not going to get in the dirt with Ashley. She then lightens the mood with a joke about being disappointed that Ashley didn’t hit on her like Gizelle thought she would.

Keiarna and Jassi exchange insults.
Jassi joins the group. Ashley asks Keiarna if she’s okay with Jassi because she heard they had tension. Keiarna says she was told Jassi had an issue with her, but she thought they were fine. When she is asked who told her this, Keiarna says Wendy told her Stacey and Jassi didn’t care for her. Jassi says she has no idea what is going on.
Wendy confirms the conversation with Jassi happened. She says she and Jassi were discussing the NAACP Awards. Wendy asked Jassi if Keiarna was going, and Jassi’s tone indicated she didn’t like Keiarna much. Jassi accuses Wendy of being messy.
Jassi then brushes Keiarna off and insists she knows Keiarna is going through a lot with Greg. She doesn’t want Keiarna to take that out on her.
In response, Keiarna tells Jassi not to bring up Greg because she’s marrying a man who had two kids on her. So it’s Jassi who is stressed out, not her. Jassi walks away and says she’d be upset too if all she got was “a little condo that he ain’t even pay for.” The other women separate them since it has gotten to the point of low blows.

The trip to Nevis Island starts with tension.
Despite the drama between Jassi and Keiarna, Gizelle still invites all the ladies to Nevis.

After the women arrive, they take a moment to drink wine. Jassi and Keiarna clash again. Keiarna says she doesn’t know how to be fake. Jassi urges Keiarna to say what she said about Wendy to her face. Wendy learns Keiarna was talking behind her back as recently as six months ago. So Keiarna was doing this before Wendy even knew they had an issue.
Keiarna and Jassi start arguing again. Gizelle changes topics quickly and asks Angel if she can get to know Jassi despite being close to Keiarna. She says she can do this. Wendy accuses Angel of trying to shade Jassi’s man with past comments. Angel says that was not her intention. She doesn’t have an issue with Jassi, and she can get along with people who don’t care for Keiarna.

Gizelle assigns villas. Keiarna and Angel will have their own villa. Wendy, Stacey, and Jassi will have another. Gizelle gifts flowers and custom robes with handwritten notes to all the women, except Stacey. Stacey takes this as a sign of what Gizelle thinks of her.

Angel is called out by Wendy.
Wendy, Stacey, and Jassi catch up. They think Keiarna and Angel are becoming distant from everyone else. Meanwhile, Angel tells Keiarna that no one spoke to her at the airport. Producers flash back to Angel being greeted at the airport by Gizelle, Stacey, and Ashley.

At dinner, Stacey brings up the conversation she had with Angel. She wanted to know how Angel was feeling as a newbie. In a green screen interview, Angel says no one else reached out like that.
Angel thinks she will talk more as she becomes more comfortable. Tia points out that she never sees Angel and Wendy speak, even though they went to the same school.
Stacey thinks it’s just lingering tension from Keiarna’s Preakness pregame event. Angel felt like she was “attacked” because the question was unfair. Wendy doesn’t like this and accuses Angel of using these kinds of words to make her look like the villain.

Angel denies using a filter app on Instagram.
Gizelle puts Angel on the spot about her Instagram pictures. She says Angel looks like a completely different person in her Instagram pictures, like she uses a heavy filter. Angel denies using a filter app for her photos. In a confessional, Angel shades Wendy and accuses her of getting surgery done to look like a “permanent Instagram filter” because of low self-esteem.
Ashley agrees with Gizelle’s theory about Angel’s pictures. Keiarna tells everyone to move on because they all have Instagram pictures that don’t look like them.

Wendy calls out Angel for being combative with her, but not having that energy with Gizelle after she exposed her. She thinks it’s obvious Keiarna badmouthed her to Angel before she came into the group.

Did Stacey try to get with Chris Samuels?
Gizelle explains not gifting Stacey a custom robe and handwritten note. She doesn’t think Stacey has been authentic. Stacey accuses Gizelle of hypocrisy and dating former NFL player Shawn Springs. Gizelle confirms they have been on dates, but they aren’t in an exclusive relationship. She wants people to stop assuming someone is her boyfriend if they see her with a man.
Ashley assumes everyone there has gone on at least one date with a football player. When Stacey doesn’t raise her hand, Gizelle and Ashley call her out. Ashley claims a friend told her that Stacey asked to be hooked up with Chris Samuels. The episode ends on a cliffhanger before Stacey can respond.

In related news, Gizelle and Robyn Dixon took to “Reasonably Shady” to address Wendy’s arrest. Robyn is disappointed.
“First of all, I want to say I am highly shocked, highly surprised, and disappointed by this if everything in these documents is true. So, of course, you’re innocent until proven guilty. But if everything in these charging documents is true, I’m highly disappointed. And then I just have so many questions. Why did they feel the need to do this?”
Gizelle feels bad for their children.
“Why?! That is my biggest question. I immediately thought…first off, huge disappointment. Sad, right? ‘Cause it’s sad for their children. Guilty or innocent, their parents were removed from their house and brought down and charged…they have mugshots. That is, I’m sure, super scary for their children. So sad, but why?”

This season has actually been pretty good surprisingly. I’m also shocked Robyn and Gizelle weren’t shady at all and seem genuinely concerned for Eddie and Wendy. Meanwhile Ashley thinks it’s so hilarious. She’s such a loser.
