Ashley Massey refutes Ashley Darby’s stinging commentary, calling herself “the quintessential housewife.”
During her appearance on Claudia Jordan’s “Accidentally Informed” podcast, Real Housewives of Potomac newcomer Angel Massie addressed the sharp comments Ashley Darby made about her first season. Ashley didn’t hold back at BravoCon when asked to rate Angel’s rookie RHOP performance. She jokingly asked, “On a scale of one to ten… one to five… is zero an option?”
“She’s a sweet girl, but I just don’t think this playground is for her. Resilience, number one. It’s okay to be sensitive and to feel things, but you can’t let your feelings overtake you to the point that you can’t function. We’re in this group because we can stand in our truth and stand on our own without needing validation. So if you can’t do that, maybe you should go back, regroup, and then see if you should come back.”
Angel made it clear she wasn’t rattled by the critique. She said Ashley’s comments have more to do with Ashley not having much of a storyline this season.
“I think Ashley doesn’t have much going on this season. It behooves her to talk about me because my life is full and wonderful. It’s very nasty to call a grown woman a girl. I know that I am the picture of resilience, so I don’t receive anything she has to say.”
She also found it disrespectful that Ashley repeatedly referred to her as a “girl,” saying she knows she is the “picture of resilience” and refuses to receive anything Ashley said about her.
Angel then claimed that some cast members look at social media comments for talking points. She also said Ashley has relied on other cast members’ storylines for years. Angel insisted she sees herself as the “quintessential housewife,” regardless of outside opinions.
